Simon x Reader

I am jolted awake by a loud, deep, miserable sounding cough. I sit up and rub the sleep from my eyes and turn to look at the unfortunate, involuntary alarm clock. Simon is sitting up, his hand covering his mouth as he seems to be coughing up his lungs. I reach out and begin to rub his back soothingly and he turns to meet my gaze, giving me a weak smile, his eyes watering and his nose running slightly.

"Oh honey," I sigh and lean forward to feel his forehead. "You've definitely got a fever. Stay right here, sit back, and I'll go get you some medicine," I command, leaving no room for argument. He looks as though he's about to protest but is interrupted by his own coughing fit. He winces, then nods and lays back. I move the pillows from my side of the bed and prop them up against the headboard for him to lean back on and he gives me a grateful look. I kiss his cheek then leave the room to search for the correct meds to give him.

I enter his bathroom and search the cabinets but there's no medicine in there, only toiletries and whatnot. Just as I shut the cabinet door I hear Simon let out a particularly nasty cough and hurry down the stairs. I don't really know where exactly to look, but as I reach the second floor Josh comes out of his room and I sigh in relief. As I walk towards him he looks up and smiles. "Good morning, Y/N."

"G'morning. Can you tell me where you keep the medicine? Simon is really sick." As if on cue, Simon let's out yet another rattling cough and Josh and I both wince. He then rushes into his bathroom and comes out a moment later carrying a bottle of medicine, handing it over to me. "That should do it." I quickly read the label.

Relieves nasal congestion, cough, sore throat, fever, runny nose, sneezing, sinus congestion, and headaches.

"Oh this is perfect, Josh, thanks!" I quickly hug him then run back up the stairs. As I enter the room Simon looks at me, a hopeful look on his otherwise miserable face. "Did you find something?" he croaks out. I nod and show him the bottle. I then remove the little drinking cap, pouring some of the syrup into it and hold it out to him. He quickly downs it then hands it back to me whilst making a face of disgust. "That's nasty," he says, wrinkling his nose, and I can't help but think how cute it is when he does that.

"The nastier the medicine the better it works," I quote, then cringe. I sound like my mother. I went into Simon's bathroom to clean out the drinking cup. I catch sight of myself in the mirror and realize my H/C hair is still a mess. I quickly throw it up into a bun and decide I also need to brush my teeth and proceed to do so. Satisfied that I at least look halfway decent I go back into the bedroom to find Simon moved so he was now laying down.

I move around to my side of the bed and sit cross-legged on top of it. Simon moves to rest his head in my lap. He has a pained look on his face as he closes his eyes, so I run my hand through his silver hair, hoping to release a bit of tension. I smile slightly as I see his face pull a more relaxed expression. I reach with my other hand to take ahold of his. He intertwines our fingers and I lift our hands to place a kiss on his before I set them back down.

Deciding he could use a bit of cheering up, I begin to softly sing a slow rendition of KSI's Lamborghini. When he recognizes the song he opens his eyes and looks up at me, amusement clear in his eyes. I smile down at him and continue to sing, causing him to let out a breathy chuckle, which then in turn causes him to start coughing again. Not wanting him to cough more, I change the song so he no longer feels the need to laugh.

"If I can't find the cure I'll, I'll fix you with my love
No matter what you know I'll, I'll fix you with my love
And if you say you're okay, I'm gonna heal you anyway." I pause as he leans up to kiss my cheek. "I love you," he tells me. I blush slightly and smile, gently pushing him to lay back down.

"Promise I'll always be there.
Promise I'll be the cure."
