The Unexpected Dwarf

Chapter 8

We followed the path into a valley. It was lush with trees everywhere. I walked next to Kili and I began to notice he smelled. It wasn't a pleasant smell either. It was stink. We had been running for our lives. It was midway when we found a river. It wasn't super deep. Maybe 20ft deep. This would be a perfect bathing place.

"It has been awhile since we bathed. Go wash up we will set up camp." Thorin said. The dwarves began to take there clothes off. I ran into the trees. I did not want to see that. I walked down the bank of the river. I found a fallen down tree. There was not current. Excellent for wading. I unlaced my corset throwing it into the sand. I took of my dress,leggings and hiking boots. I was now only in my thin underdress. I undid my braid and let my dark brown hair fall down to my lower back.

I took that off to. I was left only in my under garments. I walked into the river. I swam to the center of the river. Kili spotted me. He swam over to me and placed his hand on my hips. I quickly wrapped my legs around his waist. I put my hands on the back of his neck. He smiled at me. He leaned and placed a light kiss on my lips. I smiled back at him.

"I've never seen you with your hair down. It's beautiful." He said.

"Thank you." I said.

"Oh my please tell me you are wearing some sort of clothing." He said laughing.

"Don't worry I am."I said giggling. I noticed he was only wearing his trousers. I'm ok with that.

"You look beautiful." He said. He began to lean in. I leaned with him and our lips met in a passionate kiss. I pulled at the back of his neck. I wanted him close to me. He bit at my bottom lip. I opened my mouth slightly letting him slip his tongue in. He ran his hands up and down my body. I did not want it to end. But then Kili pulled away.

"I'm sorry was that to-" I cut him off. "No." I said.

"You are the most amazing woman I have ever met." Kili said.

"I have no words to describe you." I replied.

" I love you." He said.

"I love you too." I said.

I swam over to the shallows and began clean myself there was nothing I could do about my hair. I scrubbed my body. It felt good to be clean again. I laid on the bank of the river and let the sun dry me. I put on my underdress and rejoined the group. I attempted to put my hair back in a braid but it didn't work out bey well. Fili saw me struggling.

"Do you want me to braid your hair?" Fili asked.

"You know how to braid?" I asked.

"Yes have you seen me?" He said laughing. I sat down in front of him. He began to braid.

"What do you think about my brother?" He asked.

"He is funny,skilled,brave,caring and none the less handsome." I said.

"That's him. I'm glad you feel that way he talks about you when your not around. He was crying when you got bit. Come to think of it he never really cries." Fili said. That made me blush madly.

"Do you have anyone special at home?" I asked smirking like Kili.

"Yes. I'm guessing you want details." He said.

"I am a woman." I laughed.

"Her name is Ana. She is a seamstress." A smile crossed his face. "She has hair gold like the sun. She is funny, smart, kind,loving and most of all beautiful." Fili said blushing like a fool.

"I bet she is thinking of you right now." I said.

"Finished." He said. I felt the braid it was very well done. I underestimate dwarvish men at times. Well I have good reason. Most are arrogant, uptight, rude,proud, no table manners what so ever and lastly stubborn as a mule!

"Thank you." I said standing up. I walked back over to my things and put on the rest of my gear. I strapped on my sword and daggers. I never actually realized how many weapons I had at once. I saw Thorin walking down the river bank towards me. Oh my what did I do this time.

"Hello." I said looking down at my pack.

"I'm sorry about what I said. You just remind me of somebody I used to know." He said with a slight smile. I've never seen Thorin smile.

"Who?" I asked.

"My betrothed. Sapphire. Hair red as fire. She was a lot like you. She was a bit stubborn ,nice, caring and beautiful." Thorin said.

"What happened to her?" I asked I feared the worst.

"She died when smaug took the mountain. I couldn't save her. That's why I treated you that way. I took my anger out upon you." He said.

"I'm so sorry." I replied.

"It's ok but can you promise me something?" He asked.

"Anything." I said.

"Treat Kili right. Please. I'm happy he has somebody to love but he doesn't have much luck with women." Thorin said.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Women always backstab him. They've never treated him right. They use him. I pity him." He explained

"I would never do anything like that. I promise you." I said.

"Good. Also dinner is ready." Thorin said turning away.

"Ok." I walked behind him. All I could think about was Kili. How could any women do that. Poor thing. When we got close to camp the beautiful scent foiled my lungs. It smelled like cooked meat. Bofur handed me a plate. It had two pieces of meat and some potatoes! This is the most it had eaten the entire trip.

"Thank you so much." I said.

"No problem lass. By the way go talk to Kili he looks upset."Bofur said. I looked over at Kili he did look very upset he wasn't eating. I walked over and kicked him in the leg.

"Ow what was that for?" He said laughing.

"For not being happy. What's wrong." I said sitting down next to him.

"It's just. In the river when we where kissing. I dawned upon me that I love you. And that scares me." He said looking down.

"Are you afraid of love because women have used you?" I asked. Oh bloody hell I wasn't supposed to know that.

"How did you know that?" He said giving me a stern look.

"Oh a little birdy told me." I said looking into his eyes.

"Was it Thorin?" He asked.

"Maybe it was maybe it wasn't." I said smirking.

" Yes. I am scared of love." He said.

"Don't be." I said placing my hand in his cheek.

"Ever since I met you that fear has been dying away." Kili said. I could feel tears welling in my eyes. Not sad tears incredibly touched tears. He covered my hand with is. I leaned in and kissed him. It was a kiss that you felt every ounce of love and compassion put into it. Every spect of love. It wasn't like in the river it was pure. I pulled away and we laughed at each other. His bright smile spread across his face.

I laid down my blanket and pack. Kili settled down next to me. I felt his warmth met mine. I put my head on his chest and looked at the night sky. I counted stars until I fell asleep in Kili's arms. I wasn't sure what the company would think. I wasn't sure what my family would think. But one thing is for curtain. I love Kili with all my heart. I not going to let him go. Not now not ever.

Hey guys! I know this chapter was a bit saucy and kind of touching. A lot of huge bombs where dropped. Why Kili is scared of love. Fili has a girlfriend *inner fangirl squeal* Why Thorin treated Lucy the way he did. Also remember Ana she will be important down the road. And when I mean important I mean extremely important. Also me and my friends made 'You poor bastards' my catch phrase. So hell I'm turning it into a drinking game. Take a shot of milk please I don't want to get in trouble. Also you may have noticed that Kili and Lucy say 'Not now not ever' a lot. That is there promise that they will never stop loving each other. And lastly THEY FINALLY SAID THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!!!! Oh my god you have no idea how long go wanted them to say that. That's all I have to say for now. Love you guys.
