The Unexpected Dwarf

Chapter 12

"I've already been shot once today I don't fancy getting shot again." Kili said. I looked over an kicked him in the leg.

"Your from lake town. " Balin said. He worked things out with the man. His name was Bard. He was very very tall. Balin payed him a good amount of money and he smuggled us in barrels into the town. We had fish covered over us. I don't fancy the smell of uncooked fish. We rode a long way down the river. It felt like forever the current slowly taking us away. Once we stopped I could hear voices. I could to make out what they where saying all I knew is that they where holding is up. I felt somebody hit my barrel. I stayed still as stone. I felt the boat bob up a bit indicating that people had gotten off.

I exhaled slightly.

We floated a tad bit more. I felt my barrel being pushed over. I flopped on the floor of the barge. The floor was cold and wet with fish juices. I got up slipping twice on the way. I helped Kili to his feet. I we snuck threw the town trying not to be suspicious. As we got to Bard's house a boy who looked like a teenager stopped us.

"Our house is being watched." The boys said. I was guessing the boy was Bards son. Bard snuck us behind the house to a small shack. If this was what I thought it was. Then I saw it a toilet.

"Please tell me it's clean." I said looking at Bard.

"Of course." He said gesturing me to get in. I hopped in the water it met my skin with a bitter kiss. I began to shiver right away it was a few minutes until Bard's son came back. He helped me out. I helped Kili and we climbed out one by one. Another teenager helped me out of my clothes she was very beautiful. Bards daughter I'm guessing. She took me into a small room to get changed.

"I'm Sigrid by the way. I thought you might want to know my name before I see you naked." She giggled unlacing my corset.

"I'm Lucy and nice to meet you Sigrid." I said. She threw my corset on a wooden chair.

"So who is the dwarf without a beard?" She asked smiling. I took off my soaking wet dress and put it on the chair with my corset.

"Oh Kili! Yeah he has just a stubble." I giggled. Taking off my under dress and leggings. I folded my arms to cover my chest.

"He's cute." Sigrid said handing me a dress that looked like it would fit perfectly.

"Oh he's taken." I said smirking. I slipped into the dress. It fit perfectly I stepped over to the mirror and fixed a few things.

"By who." She said laughing.

"By me." I said turning around. The look on her face was priceless. She looked like a she had just seen a ghost.

"Oh god I'm so sorry." Sigrid said.

"Oh it's fine he is very cute." I said braiding my hair.

"How long?" She asked nudging me.

"Oh a month or so. But we are madly in love crazy isn't it?" I said laughing.

"Yes and just wondering how old are you." Sigrid asked.

"I'm 76 and you?" She looked appalled. Dwarves age much slower than humans.

"I'm 17. How are you 76?" She asked.

"Dwarves age slower." I said walking out of the door.

I came into the living room to see Bard leaving. What just happened? I looked at Kili confused. I walked towards him. I touched his leg inspecting his wound. As soon as I touched his injury he gasped.

"What?" I asked.

"It stung." He said holding his leg.

"I'm sorry." I said kissing him.
