The Unexpected Dwarf

Chapter 10

After Gandalf left we where left wondering what will we do without our wizard. I do not know what filth lies in that forest. We slowly walked past the gates. The air was foul it a smelled like death. Like the forest was dead. I walked in front of Kili. He didn't want me to get lost. He cares a bit to much sometimes. But I love him. We followed the old stone path.

"This way." Thorin said going right. We followed him. But in the middle of the path there was a log. I have a bad feeling that this is not the path. We wondered threw the foul forest. Never finding the path again. At dusk we set up camp. It was nothing much. A very very small fire and the last of our food. I lay down my blanket next to Kili.

"Lucy you have first watch." Thorin said. I sat up resting my back against an old tree. I put my bow down next to me. Everybody began to settle down. Kili walked over to me and sat down. He placed a kiss on my lips. I smiled back at him.

"I love you." Kili said.

"I love you too." I said. He laid his head down on my lap. I smiled down at him.

"What if we never make it out of this forest?" He said looking up at the stars.

"Don't think like that." I snapped back.

"I can't help my mind most of the day I'm swimming in thoughts of you." He said grasping my hand. My face flushed red and my heart began to beat a bit quicker. "What are you blushing about?" He asked.

"You. You make my heart beat a bit a quicker. You make me feel like more than all the treasure in Erebor. I never want to leave you." I said running my hands threw his hair. He leaned up and crashed his lips into mine. I was glad everybody was asleep. Kili eventually fell asleep with his head on my lap. Before dawn I noticed a set of glowing eyes not far away. I slowly leaned for my bow. I quickly set an arrow and drew back. I aimed in between the eyes of the creature. I let my are own fly into it's skull. The creature let out a high pitched screech. Everybody sprung up from their slumber.

"What in Durin's name was that!?" Thorin yelled.

"I have no idea. I just saw glowing eyes and I shot an arrow at it!" I yelled back.

"We need to get out of here." Balin said. We quickly packed up camp and began to wonder the forest. We saw lights but there was nothing there. We had gone a day without eating. Everybody was irritable. Even Balin which shocks me. We wondered until we saw them. Webs. Spider webs. They stretched threw the trees. I suddenly felt a sharp pain in my back. I suddenly felt myself falling. I was on the ground looking up at a massive spider. One that Wargs would hide from.

My breathing was heavy it was getting hard to breathe. I coughed and gasped for air. I eventually passed out. I don't remember much. After that. All I really clearly remember was being dragged and seeing Bilbo run away. I woke up on the ground with web covered dwarves laid next to me. I tried to keep my breathing rather quite. I took out my blade from my corset and cut off the web rapped around my body. I sprung from the ground and frantically searched for Kili.

I looked up to see another silk covered body falling. It landed next to me. I could immediately tell it was Kili. I frantically cut off the webs. I leaned him up and rested his head on stomach. Tears began to flow like rivers down my cheeks I couldn't tell if he was dead. I sat there baling like a child. He needed to be alive. I couldn't lose him. I began to lose hope. I walked away and cut the others out of there cocoons. They where all still unconscious. I heard loud breathing. I looked over my shoulder to see Kili sat up. I sprinted to him.

"You poor bastard I thought you where dead." I sobbed into his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me. He lifted my head from his shoulder.

"I would never do that to you." He said holding my face.

"You have no control over death. She comes as she chooses." I sobbed.

"And you wonder why I love you so much." He pulled me into a passionate kiss.

"We have to get the others." I said pulling away. Slowly the other dwarves woke up. I looked threw the webs to find our weapons. I found my bow and only a few arrows. I still had my sword and daggers. I heard a loud screech. the spiders where back. One leaped from the web covered trees. It landed next to Kili. I quickly sent and arrow into its head. More spiders came. I slashed the legs of a spider and sent a dagger flying into its head. We fought off as many as we could but there were far to many.

I saw an arrow fly past my head. I looked back to see an elf with an arrow pointed right in between my eyes. I instantly dropped my dagger. Oh bloody hell! Elves. Disgusting bastards. I was taught to hate elves and I was doing just that. The elf did not have the blonde hair I expected her to have. It was more auburn. She stripped me of my weapons. I stared her down as she removed my many daggers. The poor slag could even maintain eye contact.

Kili was just a bit away from me not having any weapons taken away. They took his bow and that's about it. The elves pushed us along the path. It took a while to get to the gates of their city. They took us in and immediately took us to small prison cells. I fought the while way there. I kicked the she elf in the leg. She threw me in a cell as far away from Kili as possible. Across the hall from me was Fili. Well at least Fili was there. He could attempt to keep me sane. I sat there in my cold cell wonder when I would get out and when would I see Kili again...
