"What happened to my body?" I asked myself.

When I was a baby, I was a much more...skinny...skeleton. I was told I looked just like Papyrus, but that's not true! I look nothing like him. If anyone, it's Sans.

A while ago, I was found in Snowdin by my new siblings, Papyrus. The longest time was spent around him, but little did I know that I had another brother to look forward to being around. I always think, if Sans would've been the one to find me instead of Papyrus, I would've been dead the day he found me!

What worried me the most about being Underground is that some monsters mistake me for a pale human.

I giggled softly, replying to myself that I was no human. I was the I stared in my mirror at myself. I was still dressed in the same outfit, a gray t-shirt, my black jacket with the letters GMG on it tied around my waist, a red scarf, navy shorts, and red boots. I smiled at myself.

"That shopkeeper's damn crazy!" I thought to myself. "What the hell does he know anyway?"

I went to sleep and covered myself up in my warm bed. I didn't want to be a human. I live deep within the Underground and here, I will stay.

My name is Gabriola Marie Gaster and I'm a skeleton. Call me Gaby. It's a nickname. I have telekinetic and psychokinetic powers, which I get from my dad W. D. Gaster. I live with my older brothers, Sans and Papyrus in a house in the middle of Snowdin. We like to go places together, but mainly just to see all of the wonderful work Dad did. It's all fun and games for us, really.

"Gaby!" Papyrus yelled to me as I was pretending to sleep. This was a trick that I had learned from Sans. "Gaby! I'm not joking around! Wake up!"
He sighed. I cracked my eyes open for just for a second and he was gone. In a minute, he was back with a big bucket of water. Just as he was about to pour the water on me, I quickly sat up and used my telekinesis to make him pour the water on himself.

"You're gonna have a bad time after what you did, bro!" Sans said, leaning in the room.

"You can't have a bad time with the Great Papyrus!!" Papyrus said as he bolted out the room. I giggled.

"Papyrus!!" Sans said, a little ticked.

"Nyeh heh heh!!"

I walked outside with Papyrus. It had been a while since I got a little while just to walk with him and relax. Usually, I'm with both Sans and Papyrus, since they do have to look after me. Today, though, Sans had to work late at his post, selling his hot dogs and hot cats. Papyrus had nothing to do, so he asked me to walk with him. Of course, I couldn't resist my big brother!

"Nyeh heh heh!" laughed Sans loudly. "It's so nice outside!"

I smiled and said, "Yeah." I giggled.

"It's better than listening to Sans's terrible puns!" I giggled and shoved him slightly.

We continued to walk. As we walked, I heard footsteps coming from behind us. Something tapped my shoulder. I looked behind me to see Sans. I screamed.

"Where'd you come from!?" I yelled. "Didn't you have to work late?

"I got a kid to sell my hot dogs," he said. "I hate work."

"You're so lazy!" said Papyrus.

"Gaby," asked Papyrus. "Have you ever heard the story of the human named Chara?"

"No," I said. "I never have. Although, how did that human
get all the way down here?! Wasn't Asgore supposed to kill humans? Unless Chara wasn't human."

"Chara was anything but human," said Sans. "Do you want to know the real reason they came down here?"

"Yes. I deserve to know."

"Chara hated humanity," said Papyrus, "so much so that they were willing to kill monsters to show their rage and anger towards everyone on the Surface. They hated the thought of everything. Each and every day on the Surface was a nightmare for the poor child."

"Chara made so many friends with us monsters," said Sans. "At the time, King Asgore and Queen Toriel were man and wife. Their son, Asriel, became close friends with Chara and the queen, king, and son treated them like family. About a year later, Chara died of illness. No monster knew that on the Surface, they had already been ill, living in a house of horrors, having to deal with poverty, illness, and barely any food or water. When the kid had died, Asriel placed their body on the Surface, and the fearful humans killed him. The king and queen were devastated to have lost two children in one day."

"The humans..." I said. "They're the ones to blame. No wonder Asgore seems to want us trapped down here."

"The story gets worse," said Papyrus. "Some of the monsters in Hotland and even Snowdin have reported sightings of Chara. We saw these sighting reports on MTT News!!"

"That's why, Gabriola," said Sans, "that you, me, or Pap will never leave the Underground, even if the Barrier is shattered. Humans will kill all of us if not careful. And if they do kill us...we'll reset and do it all again. We have the power. All three of us together...can overthrow any human that comes."

"We love you too much to let anything kill you. That's why we try to protect you. If we don't protect you, what kind of brothers are we?" He smiled. "With the hope that you have, I will never doubt your power. It's too great!!" He smiled brighter.

"You mean that? In all honesty?"

"I've never been more honest. The Underground needs you and we need you. Without you, what would happen to everything that we ever do? We lost Dad once to the humans. We won't lose you the same way. We have the power to fix it all. But without you, it's pointless."

"Thanks. That means a lot."

"Ya ready to head home? I'm getting 'bone' tired."

"SANS!" yelled Papyrus.

"Yeah. Let's go home."

"..."

The three of us walked home. It was beginning to get late and I did feel a little tired.

When I got home, I threw myself on top of my bed, giving up. Who is Chara? I thought. And what did they ever want? I was too tired to think about that. I rested my eyes and went to sleep.

They know something I don't, apparently!!
