Undertale: The Gabriola Story

Chapter Four

I woke up in bed. I peered above me to see Papyrus. I screamed a tiny scream. He was just standing there with a smile on his face. It was so familiar to Dad's.

"Good morning!!!" he said.

"Morning, brother. You gave me a scare!" I giggled.

I stretched and got up. I walked over to my closet and pulled out my boots. Just as I slipped them on, I got a message through my phone. It read:

"Hey, Noodle! It's Undyne! Can you do me a favor?"

Undyne gave me the nickname of Noodle because when Papyrus first found me, he gave me ramen, since he didn't have the right ingredients for spaghetti then. I kept on calling everything "noodle" from then on. No wonder ramen is my favorite food!

I responded with another message:

"Yes, what is it?"

After several more texts, I knew that I was supposed to meet Undyne at Grillby's to pick up something.

I waited around for about five hours. I got dressed in something nice. I hadn't seen her since I was a kid.

I was in a short, red dress with my hair over my left eye. I had on black, shiny boots. Why don't I go ahead and go? I thought.

I headed out of the house. I was walking down the street to Grillby's when a little monster boy stopped in front of me.

"Yo, Gaby! I'm your biggest fan!!"

"Nice to meet you." I patted the boy's head.

"You look so nice, dude! Where are you going?"

"Gotta see an old family friend. I know, I should be at home with Sans and Papyrus. But you...aren't you supposed to be in school right now?"

"No. School was cancelled because of a human sighting. We don't know if this is really true or not, but yo! No school!" Chara, I thought. They weren't lying. She's out to kill us all again.

"I'd be happy if I were still in school. I have two brothers to look after." As the boy walked away, I remembered something I had to ask him. "Wait, kid. I need to ask you something important."

"Okay!"

"Do me a favor. If a human in a striped sweater comes through here, please, by all means, kill them. I can tell you have the power. Thanks. It'd be a real help."

"Yeah! I won't let you down, Ms. Gaby!!" He bounded away.

I made it to Grillby's. There was a new worker standing in front of the bar. He seemed friendlier than anyone else I've met here.

"Good evening, ma'am!" he said. "Is it just you?"

"I was called here by Undyne. She may have told you about me."

"Ah, yes. Right this way, miss."

I walked to a dark room. I felt around for the light switch. I found it and turned it on. Inside, Undyne waited with a passionate grin.

"Hey, Noodle!" she said. "It's been a while. You've gotten so much bigger. You look just like your father...with a little bit of Papyrus mixed in there." She hugged me tightly, almost crushing my bones.

"Yeah," I said. "I'm fifteen years old now, and I still am kinda skinny!"

"You wondering why I called you here?..."

"Yes."

"You're actually not picking anything up. I need to tell you something important."

"What is it?"

"There've been countless human sightings. I think it's that Chara kid. They're crazy!! You need to be safe out there." She sighed.

"..."

"I hate this! First, someone pranked Papyrus with an echo flower, then Dr. Gaster died, Asriel died, Sans almost lost his life to a battle with you, and now Chara wants to take everything from us!"

"I feel like it's my fault all of this happened. All of the good things, like Asriel's life, Dad's life, and so much more, happened when I was found by you and Papyrus. It was my childhood that finally made everything fall apart."

"It isn't your fault, Noodle! And if something happens, give me a call! I'll be there for you no matter what. I care too much to let anything happen to you!" She grinned.

"..."

"I'm rooting for you! Don't let me down."

I smiled.

"You're the heroine of the Underground! You have to stay that way!"

"Me? A heroine? I don't deserve that title."

"You're more powerful than a hundred humans all together! Everyone knows you, especially in Snowdin. You should know!"

"..."

"So, do you wanna order something to eat?"

"Thanks, but no. I need that like more bones in my body. Thanks again, though."

I paid her 200G and left.

I walked outside towards home. Suddenly, I became restless. My eyes drooped and I felt like I would collapse at any given moment. As I slowly closed my eyes, the shadow of someone crowded me over. I looked up and saw Papyrus.

"Papyrus!" I said, excitedly. "I didn't think you knew where I was."

"What kind of an older brother would I be if I didn't keep track of you? I care about you!"

"You're right!" I yawned.

Papyrus picked me up and held me bridal style. I smiled.

"You're so strong."

"I care about you! I'll do anything for you."

I fell asleep.

It became the morning, and I was in my night clothes. I felt so restless.

"Good morning..!" yelled Pap from the kitchen.

"To you as well!!" I yelled back.

I blushed. I walked to the living area. There, everyone say together and talked peacefully. Sans looked up at me. He screamed.

"Do you sleep half naked every night?!"

"Calm down," I said. "I do sleep like that. How did you not know?!"

Papyrus sighed. "I had to go pick her up last night from Grillby's. I only found a short shirt and some short pants."

"What the hell!?" Sans exclaimed. "When and why did you go out in town, Gaby?"

"Yesterday," I said. "I visited Undyne again."

Sans said, "Good. I thought it would be some serial killer or something."

"Yeah. I miss the good ole days."

"I remember Undyne. It was such a long time ago. It was way before I had control over my own brain!"

"She talked to me about the strangest thing. I didn't know what to think of it."

"What is it?"

"She talked to me about Chara. She's seen them. If we're not careful and without us all together, Chara could easily kill us all!"

"With Chara this close to us," said Sans, "we're gonna need to be a lot more prepared, even if that means destroying them piece by piece."

"Let's worry about this later. We have a breakfast to enjoy!"

They all laughed and I smiled. I realized just how much I loved having a family that would protect me to the very end.
