Chapter 8: Heading Home To Chicago

 The weekend  passed, and we headed home for Chicago. The parade was being held on Tuesday so the team had to be back by Monday night. I was offered to fly on the plane with the team so I did! We were wating for our flight at Manchester-Boston Airport. It was going to be somewhat of a long wait considering how it was 2:00 and our flight left at 4:00. So I thought Jonny and I could go visit some of the little shops.

I spotted a Hockey store and dragged him into it. Surprisingly nobody else was in the store.  All they had was Bruins gear and I could tell that irked Jonathan. Which made me rub it in even more.

"Hey look a Chara jersey". I said running over.

"Yeah, Yeah". He said. "I see it".

"Look, I know you hate them but after all we are in Boston. So, did you really expect them to have any other stuff"? I asked.

"Well not really". He said. "I just really hate them".

I laughed and grabbed a Bruins Stanley Cup Final Hat from the shelf and examined it. I reached up and stuck it on his head.

"OK, Ok very funny". He said.

"Ive got to get a picture of this". I said giggling.

I pulled my Iphone out of my pocket and opened up the camera. I snapped a picture and laughed my ass off.

"Ok I was trying to be nice but that's it". He said reaching down and slugging me over his shoulder.

"Jonathan Bryan Toews"! I screamed. "We are in public".

I slapped his back just as a Store employee approached us. I stopped kicking and hitting while Jonathan turned to face the lady.

"Excuse me, I hate to interrupt your little play session but this is a store. And in a store we don't act like toddlers. So Keep this up and Ill have to ask you to leave". She said. She then turned and walked away.

Jonathan let me down. Once I regained my balance on my feet I giggled some more.

"Jonathan Toews you bad boy". I said hitting him on the chest.

"I don't usually get in trouble". "But when I do, I make it hot". He said with a smirk.

"Oh Ok, Alright". I said.

"I love you". He said.

"Love you to babe" I said smiling.

"Ok so now that we went to the store you wanted to go to lets go to the store I want to go to". He said.

"Alright, your store it is then". I said.

We walked out of the Hockey store and looked around for a store Jonathan wanted to go to. He chose a candy store. Typical.. But luckily Shawsy and Bicks were in there as well.

"You guys stocking up for the ride back home"? I asked.

"Hell Yea"! Shawsy said. "I need my warheads!"

"Uh huh sure you do". Bicks said.

"I don't know about you guys but Im getting some sour patch kids...and gum". I said.

"Well, what do you know. We like the same things". Jonathan said.

"Cool".

I grabbed a bag of sour patch kids and some extra gum. I went to the cash register and pulled out a five dollar bill.

"That will be 4.65" The perky lady said.

I handed her the five and she gave me my change back. I waited for Jonathan. We were walking out of the store when our flight number was called.

"Guess they must be boarding early". Bicks said.

We made our way to the waiting section and I grabbed my suitcase and carry on. I  rolled it down the hall way connecting to the plane. I entered and found my seat in First class, along with the other hawks. I set my suitcase over top of my seat and sat down by the window. Jonny came over and sat down by me.

"You ready for this flight"? He asked.

"Yea". "Ive flown many times before". I said.

"Are you sure, don't need any food or drinks"? He asked.

"Jonny, were flying on a plane, not giving birth". I said.

"Sorry". He said. "I just like to be prepared".

"I have my sour patch kids in my pocket". I said.

"Ok". He said.

"Your so cute when your stressed". I said.

"Im not stressed". He said.

I leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

"Did that calm you down"? I asked.

"A little". "But you know what would calm me down even more"?

"I think I have an idea".

I leaned over and kissed him. Our lips crashed. His hands came up to my face. They stroked my cheecks. I smiled and bit my lower bottom lip.

"I love it when I look into your eyes". He said.

"Same here".

"Alright you two break it up". Sharpy said. "Jonny has to do a run through of everybody before we take off".

"Oh yea, I forgot bout that". He said.

Jonny got up and left to go do a head count, while Sharpy sat down next to me.

"You two kids must really be in love". He said.

"Well yea"! I said.

"Ahh I remember those days with Abby". He said.

"Ok, Ok. We don't need the whole story". I said laughing.

"I get it, you don't want to hear about my personal life. Its cool". He said.

"Aww did I hurt Sharpys feelings"? I asked.

"Kinda". He said looking away.

"Im sorry". I said patting him on the shoulder.

"Alright everybodys here Sharpy, so get out of my seat". Jonny said.

"It was nice talking to you". He said as he left.

"Oh god, what did he ask you now"? Jonny asked.

"Oh Nothing much". I said. "Just wanted to know how us was going".

"And what did you tell him"? Jonny asked.

"I told him we were doing just fine".

"That's my girl". Jonny said as he took my hand.

I looked out the window as we took off. But my eyes soon got heavy and I rested my head on Jonnys shoulder. I drifted off to sleep.

I was awoken by Shawsy.

"GET YOUR ASS UP WE LANDED"! He screamed.

"What the hell"? I yelled at him.

"Sorry, its just how I wake people up". He said.

"What time is it"? I asked.

"8:10". He said.

"Ok thanks".  I said.

I looked down at Jonathan who was still sleeping. I shook him lightly and told him we landed.

"Huh"? He asked.

"We landed in Chicago". I said.

"Ok". He said standing up and stretching.

We grabbed our bags and got off the plane. I was back home with the love of my life. Kind of weird when you say it out loud..
