Apologies for the late update!

Jonathans P.O.V.

My eyes flew open. The smell of hospital air hit me in a wave. A sharp pain raced through my head. I reached my hand up to where the pain was coming from and found a bandage.

I tried to rack my brain to remember what happened, but the only thing I can remember is Clarrissas words, Dont Leave Me.

I glanced around the room and found that someone was here. Clarrissa. She was sound asleep in one of the chairs. She looked so peaceful. I can't imagine all the worry, pain, and stress that I have caused her and everyone else. I looked to my right to find a bunch of cards and flowers and balloons. I reached over and grabbed one of the cards.

It was from Sharpy. I read it over and then happened to glance up at the date. The date on the card was from two and a half weeks ago. Has it really been that long? Confused, I put the card back.

I heaved a huge sigh and leaned my head back on the pillow.

What the hell happened?

....

I rolled over on my side and gently opened my eyes. Outside, the sunrise was creeping over the city skyline. All night my thoughts wouldn't settle. I kept trying to remember what happened but nothing seemed to come back. It was driving me insane.

I heard a noise and sat up slightly to investigate.

Clarrissa's eyes gently fluttered open. She straightened herself in the chair and stretched her arms up. Grabbing her phone from the side table, she took a quick look at me. She went back to doing things on her phone, not realizing I was awake. "Claire." I whispered. She slowly looked up. After a few seconds, she placed a hand over her mouth and let out a small sob. Springing from her chair, she ran over to me and wrapped her arms around me.

I winced in pain, for every inch of my body ached.

She drew back, but still stayed at my side. "Jonathan, She sobbed into her hands, "we all thought you were never going to wake up."

"What do you mean"?

She glanced up at me giving me a small sympathetic smile. "You were out for 3 weeks. You hit your head on the corner of one of the machines in the workout room. It cut your head open and gave you a major concussion. When we got you to the hospital, you had already slipped into a coma. Since then you have been sitting in the same spot lifeless until now. When did you wake up?"

"This morning at like 3a.m."

"And you're feeling okay? No pain?".

I tried to smile at her, but even that hurt. "My whole body aches and my head feels like someone hit me over the head with a mallet".

She placed her hand on my forearm and gave me another smile. A small tear rolled down her cheek, but she brushed away, not wanting me to see her tears.

I studied her facial features. Her eyes seemed to have lost their shine. She had deep bags underneath her eyes and her smile just wasn't the same. A feeling of guilt crept into my system, and I knew exactly why. I was doing this to her. I was tempted to ask her how long she has been at the hospital, but I think I already knew the answer.

"I'm going to find the nurse and call everyone to let them know you are awake. You just stay put". She said

I nodded and gave her a small smile. She got up and dashed out of the room.

Clarrissa came back shortly with a nurse, my mother, father, and brother. My moms face was puffy and her nose was bright red. Giving me the conclusion that she had been crying recently.
