Clarrissas's P.O.V

I woke up in my room. I heaved a sigh, got out of bed, and walked into the kitchen.

Im so tired..

I was just about to sit on the chair when my phone buzzed. Phone?

I searched high and low for it until I finally found it under the couch, in the living room. I picked it up, took a deep breath, then sat down. I answered the incoming phone call.

"Clarrissa"! Said a voice through the phone.

"Um, who is this"? I asked disappointed.

"Excuse me?" the voice said back

"Who is this". I repeated.

"You seriously don't remember me"?

"No I seriously don't remember you".

"Its Heidi"!

"Heidi....." I said racking my brain.

"Becker".

"From"?

Her name still didn't ring a bell

"We were on the same softball team, we were biology partners in high school, we were in the same prom group senior year".

I remember her now. What did she want?

"Oh!". I said in a fake tone. "Hey Heidi".

"So now you remember"?

"Of course".

"You sound kind of disappointed. was I interrupting something"?

"No, not at all"! I paused. "I was kind of hoping someone else would call".

"Like who"? She asked.

"Oh nobody". I said.

"Is there something your not telling me"?

I bit my lip.

Im not telling anybody about Jonathan just yet.

I didn't know what to say so I just panicked.

"Hey I gotta go"! "Bye"! I cried.

Before she could get the chance to speak I hung up and threw the phone across the couch. I sighed.

I needed to do something. But what to do? Who to do it with?

I did need a good run.

I grabbed my phone a scrolled through my contacts. I was tempted to hit Jonathans number, but then I realized I hang out with him way too much. I don't want to come across as a clingy girlfriend.

I scrolled past a lot of names, until I came upon one.

Lyla Bennet.

I haven't seen her since senior year. We did a few things together over our high school years. She was nice, but we played each other in our hockey league. Lets just say I wasn't the nicest player out of the bunch. Word is that she moved up in the suburbs of Chicago. So, why not call her.

I hit her name and lifted my phone to my ear. She answered.

"Hello"?

"Hey, Its Clarrisssa Ryans"! "I don't know if you remember me or not but, I was wondering if you would maybe want to go for a run"?

Silence...

"Sure"! She finally answered

I got an awkward feeling that she wasnt that excited to hear from me.
