She awoke abruptly, hair clinging to her sweaty skin as she peered over her empty room and tried to calm her erratic breaths and heart rate.
"It was just a dream, just a dream. It wasn't real" she told herself, slipping from underneath the covers of her bed and slowly passing over to the window of her room.
She pulled it open, relishing in the feel of the night wind against her flushed face. She couldn't stay here any longer. She just couldn't.
Switching the light on of her room, she quickly changed into non-sweat and non-crinkled clothing, throwing on her trusted combat boots and lacing them up tightly before combing her hair through once more.Shoving her wand into the pocket of her leather jacket, she pulled the hood over her head before edging out the window and clambering onto the tree that was right next to the orphanage. Jumping onto the floor and landing in a roll, she peered over the dark street. The orphanage was in a rather empty part of France so this lead to less activity amongst the people.
She had no money, and no clue of where to go, but Scarlett knew that there was somewhere out there better than here. She just knew it. So, Scarlett Potter began to wander the empty streets of France, no destination in mind, no aim to achieve, just senseless wandering.
The red head was stuck in her own thoughts, as per usual, but was surprisingly pulled out of them was a shrill horn sounded and lights came into view. Speeding to a halt was a purple triple decker bus that loomed over her as she stared up at in wonder.
A harsh voice then snapped her from her state of awe, green eyes flicking to a woman who owned gold-like blonde hair, blue eyes and a rosy complexion. She looked to be in her late twenties, if not, early thirties."Vous embarquez ou non? (Are you boarding or not?)"
"Ah, oui" she nodded, leaping onto the bus as quick as she could and instantly finding a bed to sit upon as the lady looked to her.
"Où? (Where to?)"
Scarlett was taken by surprise, she hadn't really anticipated nor thought of a destination to have in mind. Her green eyes flitted to the newspapers stacked at one corner of the bus and she faintly saw the words 'Romania' printed.
"Romania" she answered, and the lady just kissed her teeth before handing her a ticket.
"Loin nous allons Erika (Away we go Erika)" she called to the bus driver who cackled before stepping on the gas and speeding away.
"Prochain arrêt, dragon dragon roumain! (Next stop, Romanian dragon preserve!)" Erika announced and Scarlett took it upon herself to try and at least get some sleep before arriving there.
It was beyond hard though, her previous night terrors still seemed to be fresh in her mind and the rocking of the bus made it hard for her to get comfy.
"Shoulda just went there in my Animagus form, wouldn't be as rickety" she inwardly complained, rolling her eyes to herself whilst casting a weary glance towards the blonde who was too busy blowing bubbles with her bubblegum and reading the Daily Prophet. That was something to do to pass the time! The news.
Scarlett reached over and grasped the paper, looking to the front page that was plastered with the image of a man struggling and screaming whilst wearing prisoner gear and holding an identification plate up for his prison number.
She immersed herself instantly, flicking through the paper and finding out all she could before settle it besides her and staring of out the window as scenery flashed by in an instant.
"Sirius Black...from the look in your eyes, you look like no guilty murderer"
