Matthew's POV
I watch Dani as she was doing her homework.
Her bottom lip pulled in between her teeth as she thought before writing down something.
I watch as her lip slides out from her teeth and she licks her lips gently before writing something else down.
"Staring is rude" She said, not taking her eyes off her paper.
"Rigghtttt" I said nodding and then diverting my eyes to my own paper. Nothing written on it because I really just don't know how to do this.
I groaned flopping back against the bean bag.
"Maybe I will just quit school" I said and she looks up at me, her pencil in her hand, the eraser resting on her lips.
She pulls it away.
"If you quit then you went to school for 11 years for nothing. Don't you atleast want to make the most out of it?"She asked me and that got me thinking because she is so right.
"Damn" I mumbled
"Whats the problem?" She asked getting off her bed and sitting on the beanbag next to me.
She looks at my paper and then up to me, raising an eyebrow.
"Uh.. All of them?" I answered questionably.
"Matt. Do you not pay attention at all in class?" She asked.
"Well. Sometimes. But even when I do I don't understand it" I tell her.
She sighs.
"Alright look. Show me what already know how to do for these equations" She said and I nodded
"This is the equation right?" I asked writing down that long ass equation with multiple letters and numbers.
It had been written down many many times so I had gotten used to seeing it.
"Right. Now how do you solve the equation?" She asked.
"I know you have to put it in there some how with the numbers and the letters but I don't know how" I tell her and she opens one of my notebooks, tearing out a piece of paper and taking my pencil.
Dani's POV
I write down the steps to solving the different equations as I remember them, his gaze lingering on me.
I know Matthew doesn't necessarily have the BEST reputation. But I mean. He hasn't treated me as bad as everyone said he would.. He hasn't even tried to get into my pants yet.
He looks at me a lot but never tries anything.
So either I am really really ugly. Or. He knows I'm not gonna do anything with him.
Whenever I told my friend Becca about how nice he actually is to me, she seemed really shocked.
Apparently he had fucked just about every girl in the school. He doesn't do things he is told, He is late all the time, and he treats girls with no respect. He has friends, but no one is actually close with him. And he apparently doesn't care about anything.
But he hasn't done anything disrespectful towards me..
"What about B? Is B right?" He asked pointing to one of the few multiple choice questions on the homework.
I look at it and then nod.
"B is right" I said and he smiles, perking up a bit.
I watch him as he does his homework, watching to see if he gets the answers right or not.
Although there were a few errors here and there, most of them being minor, simple mistakes that anyone could make. Some answers were completely wrong, But he did the work mostly right on all of them.
I am looking over all of his answers now.
"SO. What would you grade that?" He asked me.
He got 11 out of 27 wrong.
So thats almost a 60 I think.
"Well if it was MY grade you would get a 100 because you did really well and tried pretty hard. You were doing the work right but you mixed up some numbers here and there and then did some simple mistakes you know. But its okay. It happens." I said and he smiles looking down.
"But the teacher would probably give you like a 60 because you missed 11 questions" I said but the smile didn't fall from his face.
"Thats still good though! I would normally get like 2 or 3 questions Right" He exclaimed and I smiled at how happy he was getting do to his somewhat understanding of calculus.
"You could be a teacher you know that?" He asked me and I chuckled.
"I think Imma stick to being the student for now" I said and he still smiles at me.
"Can we do more?" He asked and I nodded.
"Do your homework from yesterday that you didn't turn in" I tell him and he digs through his backpack before pulling out a paper and looking at it.
"Is this is?" He asked me and I chuckled.
"I don't know what that is" I said shaking my head and he laughs a little, looking at it again before shoving it back in and pulling out another paper.
"What about this?" He asked and I nodded.
"Is it the same thing?" He asked me as he looked over the paper.
"Yeah but a lesson easier" I said chuckling and he smiles over at me before starting it, me going back to my bed and continuing my own homework for a different class.
After about twenty minutes he finishes.
"Grade that!" He said handing it up to me.
I put my current homework down and look over his answers, comparing them to mine from yesterday and looking at his work.
Since the teacher wasn't going to see this one, I marked the wrong ones and was going to make him redo those ones.
Out of 25 questions he missed 8. which is really good compared to what he was saying.
"Alright Matthew. You are going to redo the problems I marked. You only missed 8 this time. But I want you to get it" I said and he nods, taking out another piece of paper.
