The rain stopped and the box in front of us opened. The skinny, curly, red haired Mad Hatter and the March Hare climbed out, alive and well. The Dormouse jumped out of the coat and jumped on the Mad Hatter's shoulder, nuzzling his face. He did the same to the March Hare. Maggie ran to give them hugs too. The attention of the Mad Hatter turned to me. He looked at me surprised. He wispered something to Maggie. She came and stood next to me. He gasped. He walked over to me and put his hands on my cheeks.
"Wren?" he asked in a wisper. I nodded my head.He started to cry as he hugged me and Maggie. A buzzing sound was heard in the distance. I ran towards it, leaving the hug. I knew what it was. Everyone followed me. Then I saw it. The portal.
"I'll be back." I said. I ran through it, finding myself in the garden again. I ran as fast as I could into the house I lived in. I found my mother in the living room. I grabbed her hand and pulled her into the garden. She protested until I tossed her into the portal. When she saw Maggie and the Hatter, she started to cry. A little while later, Maggie and the Hatter told mom what had happened in the past 13 years. She decided we needed to defeat the king.
