CHRIS' POV

"im curious, why would mom and my godfathers tell me that you're dead when clearly you're not?" he must've voiced out everyone's been meaning to ask since they all nod well apart from Max for he already know the details.

FLASHBACK

When my back hit the ground I was nearly lifeless and immobilized. It's as if im in the middle of a sandstorm at a ghost town.

The last thing I remembered before I went into shock was my wife's face – crying and terrified.

I woke up in a mobile hospital operated by a foreign NGO. When I regained consciousness, I was told that children found me in the middle of the deserted area which I have no recollection of and that I have been in a coma for 6 months.

Upon series of questions and tests, I was told that I have amnesia due to the head trauma I've experienced. Since no one could identify me, the good doctors and nurses offered me a place to crash. I've been volunteering as a medical aid. It took 48 months before I was able to regain my memories but prior to that I've been getting migraines then snippets of memories flash before me but cant seem to recognize it at all.

Whenever I suffered from migraine I always find myself twisting the wedding bond in my finger. It tried harder to remember to no avail. The staff gave me my staff well what's left of it – my shoes and a rosary.

I've undergone therapy for a year but still didn't help regain my memory but it got rid of the nightmares.

Then one fine morning armed men stormed into the medicube (mobile hospital) demanding the doctors to treat their dying patient. A bloody man, assault riffles, pistols and ski masks – my head suddenly throbbed like hell as I fell to the floor it all came crashing down on me.

A nurse helped me to a chair as he hands me a glass of water. By the time I had a grip of myself the armed men were gone and I was being pulled to have a CT Scan.

Dr. Yoon then coordinated with the US Troops and they sent transportation to the medicube for me.

END OF FLASHBACK

"once I've reached the base, I reported my status to Admiral Gibbs then Max here was the one who fetched me. As for the Foreign NGO who helped me, I did make a sizeable amount of donation – that's the least I could do for them. Dad pledged to help them in any way he can." I narrated. Jane gripped my hand tighter giving me reassurance.

"Si-dad, so you're back in the Navy SEAL again?" my son asked but there's something in his eyes I cant pinpoint. "yeah, I was reinstated."

"so, you wont be staying here for long?" his voice's cold – no emotion at all. Before I respond I looked at Jane but same as my son's face it's blank.

"I'll be here for a couple of weeks then will head back to US but since you're on vacation you and your mom can come with me."

"mom and I will talk about it." Was all he said before telling everyone that he's sleepy – which no one believed but let it slide anyway.
