"So what do you want to talk about, Heins?" Luke said sipping on his caramel coffee. Heins? So now we were going to call each other by our last name? I'll admit, I kind of liked it.
"Hm, I don't know, Hemmings.. What are you in the city for?" I asked now sipping on my coffee. It wasn't that bad sitting here now that I knew Luke may actually talk to me. "I was just bored so this is my go to place." He shrugged. I nodded my head. Luke pulled out his phone and was on it for a minute. I noticed how flawless his skin was. And how soft and pink his lips look, not to mention his beautiful light blue eyes. There was definitely no denying he was attractive. I looked away before he could realize I was staring at him. I noticed it was getting kind of dark outside so I checked my phone, it was almost 7:30. The time flew by.
"Do you want to go somewhere else? It's kind of boring here." I asked Luke. We had been sitting for 15 minutes without saying a word. I just couldn't think of anything and I guess neither could he. Unless he just didn't want to talk to me. Luke looked up from his phone and said "Sure. Where?" I shrugged because I had no idea where to go. Sure New York was a big city but there really wasn't anything to do besides shop.
"We could just walk around?" I asked. That was the only thing that i could think of doing right now. He nodded his head and we got up, taking our coffees with us. We walked out the door and just started walking.
"So where did you move from?" I asked him. "Australia." He said. How have I not noticed his accent until now? I mean now that I knew I noticed it, but how did I not before?
"Wow, I didn't even noticed your accent until now." I laughed while his face stayed straight, as usual. "How did you not notice me having an accent?" He asked still not changing his expression.
"I don't know? I guess I don't really pay attention to that and you never talk so.. And do you ever smile?" I asked. I was curious, everyone smiles. "I do, you just haven't made me want to yet and it's rare." He said it like it was normal for him to seem like he was in a bad mood, which I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
"How can I do that then?" I don't know why but I really wanted to get just one smiled out of him, even if it was a small one. "Are you always this annoying?" He asked. I didn't see how I was being annoying.
"What do you mean?" I asked. "That." He said like, again, I knew what he was talking about. "Okay Luke I have no idea what you're talking about." I said, now getting annoyed. "Asking questions, is that all you do?" He said. Oh, now it makes sense what he was talking about.
"Well I don't know what else to talk about and I was just getting to know you." I said, he was now being rude again like before. He didn't respond to me. I checked the time now realizing it was 8:10. I didn't think we were walking for that long.
"I guess maybe we better get going now, it's past 8." I said breaking the awkward silence. "Alright, bye." Luke said starting to turn around and go in the other direction.
"Wait!" I yelled, trying to catch up to Luke. "Are you walking home?" All he did was nod, not saying anything. "I can give you a ride? I drove here and my car is right around the corner." I decided maybe I would try and get on his good side or even be his friend, considering he didn't have any. At least none that I knew of.
"Sure." He said, still not smiling. I will get one out of him before school is over.
We walked to my car and got in. "I knew I was right." He said rolling his eyes. I had no clue what he was talking about. "What do you mean?" I asked. "This," He said pointed his hand all around my jeep. "What about it?" I said, getting quite annoyed. "You get everything you want. Let me guess, you asked for this on your 16th birthday and your parents surprised you." He said buckling up. He was almost correct, I didn't ask for this. They surprised me but I didn't ask. It doesn't matter anyway, it's not like i'm a brat.
