12. The Plan

    I woke up early and got ready. My mom was making breakfast and everyone else was sitting in the living room. Ash texted me a half hour ago saying he'd be here soon. I take the wolves outside in the backyard and sit on the dock waiting for them. A few minutes later my mom comes out to say he's here so I bring them with me and meet him out front.

    "Luna, I missed you so much!" He runs to me and hugs me tight. I smile and hug back, Sky and Bay close by.

    "I missed you too. Come inside my mom made breakfast." I hold his hand and we join my family for breakfast. A half hour later I take him out to the dock and we sit down to talk. 

    "Ash I know I should have just told you this in the beginning and I'm sorry that I didn't. But I also thought I'd have more time before this happened. The reason why we had to leave and why I let you go-"

    "Luna, it's okay I know you had good reasons for how you handled things. I'm not mad and I won't push you to tell me." 

    "I'm just scared because I had a human boyfriend years ago. And now they already know about you. He died because I broke the law and they heard rumors that I was dating another human so I was trying to protect you and my family. I can't let that happen again." 

    "I know and I can't imagine how much that hurt.. And I understand why you left to protect everyone. But I still want to be with you, if you still want to try."

    "I do want to try. And I talked to my mom about it, she said I should do what makes me happy. Even though there's a big risk, at least you know the truth now. But there's something else we need to talk about."

    "And I'll take that risk to be with you. I love you. What is it?" He hugs and kisses me. 

     "I love you too. My mom said I needed to talk to you about if it comes down to it, you becoming one of us...." I hug him tight and kiss back. Although it scared me that the council could kill him, it also felt like things would be okay. We sat out on the dock talking for about an hour. Then we went inside and talked to my family about what we should do. 

    My mom was the first one to give us a suggestion. 

    "Well they don't know about this place and your sister thinks you would be fine here for now. So you two can stay here, your siblings and I will go back home and pack up the house. We'll put it up for sale and move again."

     I feel bad because we wouldn't have to move if I had just stayed away from the human. 

     "Is moving the only option? You guys can't stay at our house?"

     "We can't stay there, the council will come looking for you and they know about that house already. It's time for a change anyway, we've been there long enough."
