13. Ready For A Fight

     My mom and my siblings, except my sister went back to pack up the house. We stayed here with the wolves and thought about what to say to his family.

     "You can tell them someone in my family died and you're staying with me to be there for me." We're sitting on the dock looking out at the water. Both wolves laying with us and my sister was doing something inside.

     "Yeah that sounds believable. I'll call them tonight and tell them I'm staying for a few days." He puts his arm around me and we just sit there for a while.

     We go inside and eat lunch with my sister a half hour later. My mom calls and we talk about what we need to do. We finally decide we need to kill the council and it's followers that don't join our side. And my mom's friend talked to his pack, they will fight with us.

     "Okay so Ash, they boys and two werewolves will stay here at the cabin. The rest of us will  fight. We leave in two days." My mom recaps the plan when we're done talking.
    
     Ash and I go to my room to call his family. I fake a sad voice to sound upset when his mom answers incase she wants to talk to me.
    
   "Hi love. When are you coming home?"
     

  "Hey mom. I'm gonna be staying here for a few days. Someone in Luna's family died and she needs me."
    

 "Oh tell Luna I'm sorry. Just let us know what's going on. We love you."

  "I will and I love you guys too."

  He hangs up and pulls me into a hug. I sigh and lean into him. "We'll be fine baby, I love you."
     

  "I love you too baby, I'm just worried."

      By dinner the pack is here and everyone is discussing tomorrow. We all sit down and eat dinner. After a while we talk about anything else except the fight.

     "Did the house sell today?" I ask my mom when things settle down.
     

     "yes, I think the new people seemed nice."
    
     After dinner everyone relaxes for a while knowing not all of us could come back. It's bittersweet to think about and I feel bad that some of us could die.  I get up and go outside to sit on the dock. As usual my wolves follow and a few minutes later Ash comes out too.  He sits next to me and puts his arm around me.

     "Are you okay?"
     

    "I feel like this fight is my fault and people could die because of me."

     

     "Hey you can't blame this on yourself. Your mom told me this fight was long overdue. No one ever had the courage to attempt it."
   
      I just lean into him and stay quiet. We sit there for what felt like hours. I must have started falling asleep because he carried me back to my room. We both fell asleep fast,  it's been a long couple days and tomorrow will be hard but at least I know he'll be safe.
