Bunny had made it his job to tell Sophie and Jamie.
They were, after all, two of the most important believers, Jamie especially.
The face on the boy when he opened the window to find the Easter Bunny alone was confused, making Bunny's heart ache.
"Aye, Jamie" he smiled weakly, pulling himself through the open window and sitting himself on Jamie's bed.
"Ya' best sit down fer this mate."
"Okay" Jamie stammered, sitting beside the bunny.
"Jack and Tooth... they've gone away mate."
"Gone away?"
"Jack and Tooth, they were very sad. Gawd, you're ten, how do I even say this?" Bunny said, half to himself and half to Jamie.
"Bunny, what happened?"
"They died" Bunny's voice cracked as the small boy latched onto his fur, burying his face into the rabbit's side.
Why did it have to end like this?
