I laughed at her and said "Come on cutie"
I walked in hand in hand with this little cutie and left Jamal to come in by himself. I walked her to the couch, she walked like a little penguin. Jamal was just standing there.
"You gone just stand there or you gone come and sit?" He comes over by the couches and sits down.
"So whatchu come over here for?" I aready knew that I wasnt going to be able to hold in my attitude.
"Africa.. I really need to talk to you" Duh. This niggah.
"Well talk"
"Alright I never meant to stand you up, I w-" I cut him off. Im not about to have this conversation with him while this little girl is sitting here. Then I felt like a sucker..like I was giving in to forgive him. My daddy's words, SHOW NO EMOTION popped in my head.
"First off she dont need to be around this, so she can go and play with some toys or something I guess." He looked at me confused. "I babysit, I have toys here" He nodded and was about to get up.
"Nah I got it. What's her name?"
"Madison" He said so unreadable.
"Alrighty, Maddy do you like toys?" She nodded her head. "Come on they are upstairs" I led her upstairs, set her up, and made my way back downstairs not before grabbing the baby monitor.
"She is all set..You were saying?" He was just staring at me.
"What?"
"Uhh..nothing.. Just surprised she went with you" He whispered the last part.
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why are you surprised?"
"She just gives people a hard time"
"Oh..well finsih what you were saying" I got bold and said, "Better yet, I need some questions answered"
"Before you ask anything, Africa I just wanna say sorry, and I am going to be completely honest with you about anything you ask" He said emphasizing anything.
"Alright..who is that little girl to you?"
"Thats my daughter" RED FLAG.
"How old is she?"
"Madison is 16 months" I got that out the way. Now the question that will answer every question I will have.
"Why are you here? Im not just talking about why you just RANDOMLY popped up at my house, but in my life. Why are you still here?" He looked confused and shocked by my question.
"Well..." He need to hurry and answer. He just sitting there maybe he is just thinking. I got up to check on Madison. I went upstairs and she was sleeping on the floor. This was just so beautiful. I remember when KJ would just fall asleep on the floor. I would just stare at him while I held him.I sat on the floor with her and lifted her into my arms. She snuggled up to my chest. I just looked at her and a tear rolled down my cheek. I bit my lip and put her in my bed. with a pillow on each side of her so she wouldnt fall.
I turned to leave out the room and there was Jamal. He was just standing there, against the door frame with a slight smile. I hurried and wiped my tears and walked past him. I went down stairs wiht him right on my tail. I sat back down and stared at him. He was looking back at me, he scratched the back of his neck with his right hand while tilting his head to the left.
"Alright A..imma juts be straight up with you..."
This was just a filler..
