MOOD BOARDS.

"you don't have to do this alone." - bellamy blake

-

okay so this chapter is going to be a lil tutorial on how to make cute mood boards. obviously you don't need to be able to make mood boards in order to write a fanfic for the 100 but it's kind of fun and helps you get to know your characters better.

INSTRUCTIONS:

❁ apps you will need:
picsart or photogrid, weheartit

❁ steps:

1. go onto either weheartit (my personal fave) or google images and search up images that you need. two tips when doing this are: a. use photos that have a similar colour scheme; b. use photos that relate to your character like objects that represent them, things they like, a quote that represents them, etc.

2. once you've saved a number of photos (it doesn't matter how many but like i usually use like 8-10ish images) open them up in a collage making app. again i use picsart or photogrid but obviously use whatever collage app you are used to.

3. select the photos you want to use for your mood board. once they are all in the collage, i usually take out the boarder so there's no space between the photos. also i rearrange them so they fit how i want.

4. once you have every photo how/where you want it, save it to your camera roll. you can use mood boards in an intro to your book, or if you have a separate book where you describe your OCs, you could use it there too.

EXAMPLES:

so i made two samples. both of them are for characters in my current book "hiraeth" (shameless promotion, if you haven't read it you should).

♕ mood board example one: Hazel Hudson

explanation: so i mostly tried to use black and white/pastel colours for this board

explanation: so i mostly tried to use black and white/pastel colours for this board. the girl in the bottom centre is obviously Hazel. there's some pieces of ancient statues & ruins to represent her love for history. the quote 'stay alive' is to represent her zest for life despite her situation, and her determination to keep breathing even though she met almost daily with life threatening situations. the other images represent how she has to become strong, and the violence she's had to endure. lastly the book represents how much she loves history and reading.

♛ mood board example two: Bellamy Blake

explanation: so, obviously the two photos of bellamy represent him because he is bellamy lol

explanation: so, obviously the two photos of bellamy represent him because he is bellamy lol. the books represent his love for history and his childhood reading greek mythology with his mom and sister. the guns represent...well idk if i have to explain we all know bellamy and his love for guns. the forest/vegetation represents earth and his journey there. the girl/forest picture kind of represents hazel because in my book she's something he cares about a lot. then the quote i used because i think it does a good job simply explaining his internal struggles.

hopefully this makes sense! have fun creating mood boards because they are honestly so fun.
