The children were more than thrilled when we told them we got back together, Albert wouldn't stop telling me he was right about the whole winning her heart thing. Evangeline seemed pretty happy too but I can only imagine what she was feeling inside, she doesn't know her father beat her mother. For all she knows, her mother has no right to be forgetting about Eddie so quickly. I wonder if she'd ever find out the truth about Eddie because if she doesn't, she is sure to hate me for not letting her mother wait it out. And that is something that I wouldn't want for her.

Currently, I'm at work, counting the minutes until I get to go home and pick up my beautiful date for a romantic dinner under the stars.

It's our first date since we've officially given each other another chance. I've been trying so hard to make it happen these past two weeks but either I'm busy at work or she's busy with Evangeline and her education. Which isn't a bad thing, she even helps Albert with his. All I'm saying it that I would've really wished for her to set it to the side just for one day but i was being patient and now we can finally get going on one.

I've made sure there was enough food and money for the children in case they wanted to order take out instead of eating something at home. I offered Albert a meal prepared from me for the two of them but he said no, that they'd either make something or order a pizza.

I bought Ruby a beautiful, sparkly, red dress that goes a little above her knees and hugs her curves in all the right places along with some Harvester red heels to match for tonight.

When I saw it on display, I didn't have to think twice in going in and buying it. I know she'd look fantastic in it.

The clock read five minutes to seven. It's almost time, I continue to finish up the little I have to do and when I finish, I waltz out of work.

On my way back to the house to pick Ruby up and get a fresh change of clothes, I stop by the florist and purchase a bouquet of red roses. "Would you like a card to go with it?" The cashier asks. "Something sweetly written for the beloved, perhaps?"

Ruby does love reading cards when she gets roses. "Sure," I offer a smile and pull out a pen just as she slides the card to me. I scribble something on it and pay the woman before scurrying back out to my car.

Walking through the doors, I say a very cheesy line. "Honey, I'm home!" I know that's usually for couples who are married but Ruby and I live together so it should be acceptable.

I hear the clacking of her heels coming down the stairs and my breath escapes my body as I lay eyes on her. She's breathtaking.

The dress fit her perfectly and she styled her hair into beautiful loose curls. "Wow," I manage to say after seconds of silence. "You look stunning, mon amour!"

She chuckles lightly, "Thank you." I hand her the roses and peck her cheek. I wait for her to pull out the card and read it, "You take my breath away, always." She beams, blushing a little bit. "That's so sweet, thank you."

"All the best for you," I reply. "I'll be down in a minute, I'll just change out of this and we'll head out." She nods her head and walks to the kitchen in search of a vase to put her roses in.

It's a really good thing that I had already planned what I was going to wear and set it out on top of my bed for when I returned from work. As soon as I threw the bedroom door open, I saw my fancy suit on the bed where I placed it and snagged it in a quick second.

Even faster than that, my work clothes came off and I took a fast shower. Just to rinse off whatever sweat I could've had from working. Which is rare since my office is always cold.

I pulled on the suit and styled my hair with gel in one swift motion. Then, I sprayed some cologne on and headed back down the stairs. "I almost forgot how nice you clean up," She grins. "You look great, Nicolas."
