Perfect, Just Perfect

Nicolas:

Perfect.

That's what this is. This feeling. This moment.

Perfect.

"So?" She asks, giving herself another smooth twirl for me. I take in her complete look. She's stunning. "How do I look?"

I smile, genuinely. "Perfect."

She rolls her eyes, smirking. "You always say I look perfect, when will you switch up your vocabulary?" I stretch my hand out for her to grab, when she does, I pull her close to me. Her scent mesmerizes me. It's as if the perfume was designed for her. "When will I get a 'beautiful' or a 'pretty', don't I deserve more than just one word?"

I continue to smile. "Of course you do, of course you deserve more. More than just words, baby, you deserve the world. Fuck that, the universe!" She chortles, shaking her head.

"Now you're just being silly."

I shake my head. "No, I mean it and I'm a stupid fool to have never realized that before and I'm sorry, a million times sorry."

She gives me a soft smile. "We agreed, Nicolas." She reminds me, giving me those gorgeous eyes of hers.

I nod, "I know, Rubes." I pull her even closer, being able to feel just how right this is. She's my soulmate and yes, I do believe in those type of things so hush!

Anyway, you're probably wondering about what she meant when she said that we agreed on it. Well, we agreed that we wouldn't mention any of the bullshit from before that we would forget all of the chaos and enjoy these following moments of perfection.

Because like I have said earlier, she's perfect.

"Alright, let's get going." I grin, taking her by the hand to escort her out to the awaiting vehicle.

I wanted to do something big for this date, something that would show her how happy I am to have her back in my life again. Although, when she heard I had wanted to demand a limousine to drive us to our destinations, she told me no. She told me she doesn't want something that big and out of the norm so I obliged and decided I'd have someone else drive us around. Of course, I'm paying the little guy.

"Good evening," He says, fully into his character voice. "My name is Al, I shall be your driver for this lovely evening. Where are you headed?"

Ruby laughs, Albert has a bright smile on his face. He's getting a kick out of doing this for us. I slip Albert a paper with the name of the restaurant and he automatically begins to drive since he already knows where it is.

"Wow," Ruby chortles, "You surely went out of your way for this night, didn't you? I mean, our own teenaged chauffeur?" She's teasing, she thinks this is funny. "I should've known though, when I said I didn't want the limousine." I smile, glad that she's aware that I wouldn't give up on something even if she doesn't want the big things.

"Only the best for you," I say as I kiss the palm of her beautifully soft hand to which she blushes lightly.

"You're to kind." She plays along.

Albert stops at the restaurant and Ruby immediately smiles widely. "Oh, Nicolas!"

"You remember this place?" I ask, hoping she would.

"How could I not!?" She beams, "This is where we first met! This is where you tried paying me fifty bucks to eat dinner with you, your boss and his wife!" She laughs, "Oh! I still remember how nervous you looked, I was pretty sure you thought I was going to humiliate you."

I grin, brightly. "I figured since we're trying this again, on a blank new sheet, we should at least hit some good marks that have some deep meaning to us." I extend my hand out to her, "Now, shall we, milady?"

She nods, taking hold of my arm. "We shall."

I tell Albert that he has about one hour and thirty minutes before he has to show up again so he drives off with the promise of returning on time. He also winked, a silent action to which I have come to realize that he means 'get some.'

Yes, it's quite weird. I don't want to question him because I don't want to make it weirder.

I have Ruby sit in the same spot she once did when I met her and tell her that I'm going to check in on our reservation. When the waiter tells me that our table is ready, I go back to Ruby in a frazzled state. "Oh god, oh god!"

Ruby furrows her eyebrows together and stares at me in confusion. "Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck."

"What's wrong?" She asks.

"Oh," I say, ready to begin my role. "It's just that my boss, he wants me to bring someone to spend dinner with his wife while we chat about business." Then I make my eyes wide, hoping she'd grasp what I'm doing. "Oh! I have an idea, would you please join us for dinner? I'll give you fifty bucks!"

She stares at me for a few seconds, putting together what I just said before giving me a bright smile. "Oh, I would, believe me but I'm waiting for my friend."

"Y-your friend?" Now I'm confused as to why she isn't saying what she did before.

She nods, "Yeah and she can be a total bitch if I stand her up." She takes in a good look at me, "but you are pretty damn hot so I guess it wouldn't matter, right? Sure, I'll join you for dinner." She grabs my arm and I grasp what she's doing, she's changing things a little but still keeping it the same.

"Thank you, what's your name?" I joke.

"Wouldn't you like to know," She smirks, managing to completely capture my heart in this little game we have going on. "I'll tell you what, if you're worth it, I'll reveal my name after dinner."

"Deal," I smirk.

We take our seats and the waiter took our orders, by the time he returned with our meals, Ruby and I were already laughing out loud and on the edge of tears coming out from all the bursts.

Ruby and I walk out of the restaurant completely satisfied and full of laughter. "So this was a lovely dinner, even if your boss never showed up." She winks, "Thank you."

"Doesn't matter that he didn't appear." I smile, "I still had company and if I may say, you're much sweeter on the eyes than he is." She laughs, swatting my shoulder lightly. "So, may I have your name? Was I worth it?"

"Nah." She says laughing. After a second of looking into my eyes she shakes her head, "Ruby."

I take her hand and pull her close. "You're so beautiful."

She smiles, her eyes radiating. "And you're handsome."

She is. She's beautiful.

And I'm so fucking lucky to have her.

I place a kiss on her lips, "I love you"
