My head rests against the pillow as I'm facing the ceiling. Albert and Evangeline's graduation ceremony was a few months ago, they were happy despite Evangeline regretting that she ever invited Eddie. To celebrate, we took them out to any restaurant they wanted.
In September, which is next month, Evangeline starts her college classes and Albert starts his online courses while working, too. They're growing up and I can't be any more melancholy about the whole thing. I turn to my side and see my beautiful lady beside me, no we didn't do anything yet, stop thinking that. You will know when it happens. I smile at her, taking her hand in mine.
She does the same, "Nicolas, I was wondering, don't you think that we should finally tell them?" My heart beats, I have been waiting for her to say those beautiful words. "We've been together for five months and it's been a month already that ..."
I nod, stopping her there. "I know, I've just been waiting for you to give me the green light." She beams, "I'm so happy that you finally think it's time for us to tell our children!" I press a kiss on her lips, she wraps her arms around my neck.
"So tonight?"
I agree, "Tonight."

"To dinner?" Albert questions, suspecting something already. "What's the occasion?"
Ruby shakes her head. Denying everything because that's what we've agreed on. We've agreed to keep it inside until we're at the restaurant. "There doesn't have to be an occasion for us to want to take our children to dinner."
He squints his eyes, watching us very carefully. "Or what? Do you take Evangeline out to dinner only when there is an occasion."
Evangeline's lips curve into a small smirk as she looks at Albert. "Yeah, Albert." Ruby and I chuckle softly as Albert sighs and nods, looking at Evangeline with so much adoration. Similar to how I look at Ruby.
"Fine," He says. "I still think there is an occasion but I'll drop the topic for a while. When are we going?"
"As soon as we've changed and gotten ready." I speak. With that, we all head to our bedrooms to get ready. About forty-five minutes later, we're all in a car and headed to the restaurant.
"This is quite fancy." Albert notices, "You sure this is for no reason at all?" I ignore his comment and continue to lead them inside. I inform the employee that's greeting the customers at the entrance that we have a reservation and he smiles, leading us to our table.
He sends a waiter our way and we give him our orders. While we wait, we all drift into our small conversations with one another before Albert decides to speak. "So, now that we're here, can you finally admit that there is an occasion?"
Evangeline sighs, probably annoyed that Albert doesn't drop the topic. I shake my head and nod my head toward the waiter that's coming toward us.
He places our plate of food in front of us before he dismisses himself so he could go to another table. Ruby and I share glances here and there, when she gives me the brief signal, I clear my throat so I could grasp their attention.
"Okay," I start. "There is an occasion as to why we're here."
"I knew it!" Albert cheers, listening carefully. Evangeline, too, is now paying close attention to her mother and myself.
"We're getting married!"
They look at us in shocked faces before embracing us into warm, loving hugs. Once they take their seats again, they ask us all the questions they have. We answer them as best as we could and then, just as we're about to finish our dinner, Evangeline speaks. "Wait, there is still one question that we want the answer to."
