A/N: Mrs. Sally, played by Roselyn Sanchez (the principal). Enjoy ;)

The death of her and the only person I loved, changed me. She had always wanted to live her life to the fullest, and she wanted me to do so as well. I was in the 8th grade when she died. So by the time I got to high school, I had experience in everything.

Everything except love.

Since she died, I didn't want to get to know anybody, I had decided. It was probably best anyways.

When Freshman year started, a lot of "cute" guys, according to the other girls, had moved here. By about the 10th boy, I stopped paying attention. Until somebody caught my eye.

Parker Asher, the hottest guy I had ever seen.

With his gang, he goes by Ash, because one year, he burned down our local town hall.

Ahh, the memories of freshman year.

Today was the day of Sponsors Day, when we had to set up a booth for something and send the money to a charity.

I hadn't done this before.

Pretty sad right?

I'm in senior year and had never done this before.

I moved to this school for high school. My old school was closer to my old house than this one.

I had already decided, I was going to donate to her death charity. My sign read,"Young Children's Society" And I was selling bracelets, t-shirts, and homemade chocolate chip cookies, her favorite food.

I had made the booth colors her favorite colors, as well, pink, purple, and blue. Everyone else's booth is one color, so mine stuck out like a sore thumb, which might be a good thing, I thought to myself.

That's when I saw the principal walk in. How did I know the principal on the first day? Well, it wasn't really the first day, but you know what I mean. I had seen her around but I never straightened up around her. I wasn't one to misbehave, but I didn't walk around with my shoulders and back straight all the time either. All the other juniors, sophomores and seniors all straightened up, the boys fixing their tie's and the girls smoothing the wrinkles in their dresses. She was walking through the middle of the auditorium, where Sponsor's day was held, examining all the other booths. She had talked to some of them, others' just nodded.

Once she got to the girl left to mine, I heard a whisper from the booth to my right," That's Regina Whitehurst, you DON'T want to mess with her."

My curiosity overran my protectiveness, so I said"Why?"

She responded," I heard that one year..." and then she stopped. That's when I turned around and the principal looked like she was finishing up with Regina.

When I turned around to the girl on the right of me, she was fixing her dress, which was blue with a brown belt running through it. And I had also noticed it was a shorter length. I looked at my outfit, some nice skinny jeans and a flowing shirt. Welp, so much for a first impression.

Then I had no time to question my look because the principal moved from Regina Whitehurst's booth to mine, Caroline. She looked down at the clipboard I hadn't noticed before, and read my name," Caroline , yes?"

I had only just noticed what she looked like. She had brown hair, brown eyes, she looked awfully young but the look some of the seniors were giving me said that she was powerful and respected.

She snapped me out of my little gaze by saying," Caroline , yes?"

I shook my head and said," Yes Ma'am"

She looked at me and said," I should never have to repeat myself again, understood?" And at that moment, I knew I had screwed up. I had felt so stupid that I only nodded my head.

She said," So, tell me what you are selling."

I replied,"I'm selling bracelets, t-shirts, and homemade chocolate chip cookies." She looked at my items, then took a step back, probably to look at my sign. I can't really tell with this principal, she was looking at my entire booth, from top to bottom.

She told me," I like how you did multiple colors for your booth. For about 7 years, people only did their booth one color. This is the first multi-colored booth I've seen in years!"

"Thanks! " I said, louder than I expected. She had seemed so much meaner when I hadn't responded to her immediately, and then she seemed so nice just now. I don't know, I won't let it get to me. I have lots of things to do later, meaning no time to dwell on it.

Once again, she snapped me out of my daze, this time by clearing her throat. "So, where will all of your money go to?"

I responded immediately," It will go to the Young Children Memorial Foundation."

She never seemed to stop asking questions at this point," What is the Young Children Memorial Foundation and why did you choose to donate to this foundation?"

Ok, wow. Two questions in one sentence! She deserves a standing ovation! "Well, the Young Children Memorial Foundation is a foundation in which money is sent to help find ways to stop kidnappers who take and kill, rape, sell, or anything you can think of, to children. I chose this foundation because I knew one of them, a young child member. In fact, let me just tell you, she was my sister." I was fighting the tears. Thank God the principal just stood there. She didn't show any kind of emotion while she examined my booth one more time.

"One more question," she said as I fought the urge to show her my infamous eye roll.

"Yes, shoot." I said as I questioned if I should have said that.

"Who founded the Young Children Memorial Foundation?" Little did she know, I was the one who came up with it, payed for it, and had no help at all with it. And, I still pay for it to this day with my salary money that I got from my maid job.

Apparently, my brothers think that since I have a job as a maid, that I am their maid. I have to go home to them later. But, that's later. Right now I need to focus on this Sponsors Day thing. I knew I had her waiting for a while now so I told her," Why yes. I came up with the idea for the foundation, sponsored the foundation, paid for the foundation with my allowance money, with no help at all, from when I started to now, and I'm still paying for it, might I add."

She didn't look astounded, but I knew deep down she was surprised at how 'hard' I had my life, either that or she didn't care. " I like your idea of your booth and the charity. Just know, it's not the support that we have, but the strength inside us that keeps us going." And with that, she walked over to the next booth, the booth on the right of me.

After she left, I looked over to that girl's booth and heard the principal say,"Sarah Mack, yes?"

"Yes, Mrs. Sally," I heard the girl, who's name was apparently Sarah, say.

A/N: If you see Caroline or Parker's name different in future chapters, my apologies. I changed their last names, so if you would kindly message me or leave a comment to let me know. Thank you!
