This is Shade and Caroline's dad, played by Michael Weatherly. And an old song but one of the best. :)

I woke up in the emergency room and  I would have rolled my eyes if I wasnt in more pain than I have ever been in. It's a weird pain. Not the kind I'm used to anyway. I started screaming at the pain. Others were there too, but they were calmer than I was. So, there were a lot more stares than I expected.

I couldn't help it! My thigh had gotten stabbed with god knows what for pete's sake.

I should be used to it but she caught me by surprise and I couldn't fend for myself.

I looked at the nurses and doctors and saw they were putting alcohol in my wound. I screamed and they knocked me out with numbing medicine. I heard what I thought were someone else's screams. I rolled my head around and saw two security guards holding Parker back. He was screaming at them, saying"Let me through! Let me through now!"

He stopped struggling, took a few steps back, saying,"My Caroline i-is in there. Let me go through." Which, the guards probably thought that was some kind of pet name for his girlfriend.

They let him in and he rushed over to me.

Idiots these days, huh?

Nevertheless, I rolled my head back around, heading back into my death sleep, as I am calling it now.

When I woke up from my death sleep, again, I was in a hospital room. Parker was right beside me, laying on the right of the bed, holding me in his muscular arms, and the door was on the left side of the bed. He had scooted me over a little bit to the left, so he could lay by me.

He was softly singing Angel Eyes.

"Saturday night she's rockin' out by the bonfire
Foot hangin' from that tail gate and crankin' up the dial
Come Sunday mornin' she'll be singing with the choir
Drivin' me crazy with that kiss me smile
There's a little bit of devil in her angel eyes.
She's a little bit of heaven, with a wild side.
Got a rebel heart of country.
My oh why.
There's a little bit of devil in her angel eyes. Little bit of devil in her angel eyes.
And I can't stop wondering. What it would it feel like to hold her all night.
She's got that something. That sexy innocence. She must be heaven sent!"

And boy could he sing.

He was staring intentively at my leg, probably cursing himself for letting this happen to me. I looked at him and he must have felt a set of eyes on him, so he looked at me and an evil smirk suddenly formed on his face.

I thought outloud,"Oh lord. What did you do?"

His smirk became an even bigger smirk than before and he said,"Nothing."

Ok, really?

I can tell he is lying, I'm not stupid. You could tell he was lying from across the street, it was that bad.

His phone was on silent so it would vibrate if he got a message, which he did. He glanced down at his phone and before he could explain, my older brother, Shade, rushed into the room, wondering what had happened.

He noticed Parker sitting very close to me and started with the death glare. I noticed and said, "It's ok. He saved me."

Shade's cold glare didn't go away.

Uh, hmm?

What?

Does Shade know Parker?

I swear, Shade is like a second father to me. I don't like to think of him like a second father though. I have one father and that's it. I consider Shade my shoulder to cry on, my body guard, and last but not least, my brother. I looked at Parker and he was giving him a death glare as well, and Shade said through gritted teeth,
