A/N: Oh the irony. Read on :).
Damien's POV(after she visited the Moon Goddess)
I sat there, tears falling out of my eyes. My mate was sitting here lifeless. After I pulled her up, she got shot near her thigh. When the doctors and nurses were examining her blood wound, I noticed some very bold stitches. Maybe she fell out of a tree or something, heck, how would I know?
I still can't believe I didn't go looking for her. My mate is so beautiful. The most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on. Over my mother, my mother is a quite beautiful woman but nothing compared to my mate. My new 3rd in command, Ky, came in and asked me what the files said. I said,"I did some background research, well the nurses did, but still. I found out her name is Caroline, she has 3 brothers, one older and two younger, and a deceased sister, twin.
Her older brother's name is Shade, he graduated a few years ago from high school. He is very overprotective of her and any guy that shows interest in her, he runs off. Okayyyyy, good to know." I stopped from reading the information to look at Caroline. Her chest was rising and falling, peacefully. I looked to her neck, looking for the mark that selfish John put there, without her consent. John is 23 years old. He still hasn't found his mate. He must have saw Caroline and thought that because she was human and supposedly clueless, and beautiful, that he would put some stupid information in her brain. When I was looking at her mark, it slowly faded. I blinked and wiped my eyes, thinking it was a dream. But when I opened my eyes, the last trace of her mark was gone.
I threw my left fist, the one that wasn't occupied by holding her hand, up in the air in triumph. With her consent, because if I don't I could lose my position as alpha, I can mark her. I brought my fist back down and continued looking through the files. I continued,"Her younger sister was kidnapped and killed by her uncle.
Well then, that's not weird at all. The file says that Caroline gave a testimony. It says 'Uncle Jammie always said that she trusted strangers too much. He also told me that was the reason why he didn't like her. He must have killed her for it. I can only imagine what she went through.'
The lawyer, for her sister, says, 'Now that you've given us your opinion, can you tell us what happened?' 'Yes, me and her were walking through the forest down a path mom used to take us to a park. It has trees surrounding each side, and no one really goes down the path that much so it was kinda our little path.'" My wolf is trying to tell me something.
'That's where we were running when we heard that scream.'
Welp there you have it folks, there has been a bad thing happen to her there. "Hey, Ky," I say. He turns his head to me and nods, motioning for me to continue. I look back at the files, and say,"Her sister got killed there and if I think back right,"I say reading her mind,"She got stabbed in the leg there."
Light bulb.
I hastily flip through the file and there's a page where she got rushed to the hospital and had to get stitches in her thigh. I show Ky, and he reads over it too, and once he's finished, he gasps too.
I flip back to try and understand this all. "Her two younger brothers, Ashton and Aaron, play soccer and baseball." One of the nurses came in and said,"And she hasn't missed a practice or game, like ever," and did some tests on Rosie.
I smirked, "My girl is a sports fanatic. Her mother, Elizabeth, is currently in college to study being a surgeon. Her father, Trey, is a sports coach and a high school teacher.
Interesting
And that's it beside her having to go to the hospital a few times because of her falling out of trees, tripping over tree roots and having stitches, softball injuries, basketball injuries, volleyball injuries-" I'm interrupted by Ky, and what he says, I double over with laughter,
"God, you got a good mate, mine just does her makeup all freakin day."
When I finally stop laughing, I look at him and just bust into laughter again.
You've all done it before and you know it.
Once I can contain my laughter and breathe properly, I continue,"boxing injuries, track injuries and football injuries."
Dang, if my girl couldn't get any more perfect by her looks her personality is good too. I then hear screaming and punches from the reception area. I get up and head to the reception area.
Whoever it is, they aren't going to hurt my Caroline more than she already is. Not that she can't defend herself when she's conscious, but she isn't conscious right now and it's my turn to defend her.
