Isn't school supposed to teach stuff that will be useful in life? What are all these teenagers going to need to know how to climb a fake rock wall for? I mean I might need it for ,I don't know, running for my life ,but what do they need it for?
Allison kicked Scott's leg ,sending him to the ground and breaking me from my hateful thoughts of this activity. Coach told Scott that he loved seeing him in pain. Don't we have the best teacher? Honestly, times like these are when I like Coach Finstock. He's funny and doesn't let things get to boring.
"Alright, next two!" Coach called. Then he pointed at Stiles. "Stilinski!" Then at me. "Hale!"
I think my face paled. We haven't talked since the night of the full moon when I slept over ,so like a day. It was just so awkward that I ignored him.
I went and took Scott's harness while Stiles took the harness Allison was in. I started up the wall and Stiles was surprisingly able to keep up.
"Jess, are you going to keep ignoring me?" Stiles asked from besides me.
"I'm not ignoring you." I lied.
"Oh, really? How come I haven't seen you since the full moon? You weren't even home this morning." Stiles called me out.
"I'm supposed to be helping Derek with Isaac." I tell him. That's true that I am but that's not why he hasn't seen me.
"You can do that without being with Isaac all the time." Stiles said sounding angry.
"Well, it's easier to make sure he stays in control when I'm with him." I'm still telling him half truths. They are true but not why.
He was going to say something else when I made it to the top. I started back down with pretending he wasn't there. We made it back down. I took off the harness and went with Scott. Stiles stood on the other side of Scott.
Greenburg and Erica went to the harnesses after Coach called them out. Greenburg surprisingly did pretty good. Erica ,on the other hand, stopped about halfway up. Allison was the one that told Coach that she was epileptic and Coach called her back down. After a minute of convincing, Erica kicked off the wall.
She walked off while everyone laughed at her. I started glaring at people that laughed out her and they stopped when they saw my death stare. I slipped away from Scott once all the attention was back on two more people climbing. I went to go check on Erica. I didn't want to make it seem like I care but I felt bad for her. I found her crying in the locker room.
"Hey ,Erica." I said trying to make my voice sound more sympathetic that usual.
"What do you want? Want to tease me about that?" She pointed to the gym. "Want to push me around too? Well, go ahead. Whatever you do ,I bet I've had worse."
I put my hands in the air as a sign of surrender. "I come in peace." I say with a small smile. She looked at me skeptically. "I came to see if you were alright." I tell her.
She smiled softly at me. "I'm fine." She tells me.
Other girls started coming in the locker room too ,including Allison and Lydia. I try to get out since I'm still trying to ignore Lydia.
Great, now look at me ,running away from all my problems instead of facing them like I was taught.
"Stop right there!" Allison said grabbing my arm.
"What?" I asked shortly ,putting my guard up.
"Have you been ignoring us?" Lydia asked. I made sure not to look at her. "Or just me?" She seemed sure it was her that I was ignoring. And she was right.
