Chapter 16

I walked into the locker room. I was getting Jackson for Derek. He wanted to test if Jackson was the kanima. I saw Jackson trying to bench a lot of weight. He wasn't able to lift it off of his chest. I grabbed the bar one handed and pulled it up. I put it on the things to hold it.

"Thanks." Jackson gasped out.

"Anytime." I say. His eyes shoot open to look at me. 

"Jess." He stood up by me. "What are you doing here?" 

"Do you want to know a possibility of why the bite didn't work?" I ask him.

"Yeah, of course. Do you know why?" 

"I can test a possibility but there is a condition." I say raising my hand to rest on the side of his face while I smile. 

"What condition is that?" He smirked ,obviously thinking I was going to kiss him. 

"This." With that I jerk my hand to the side causing his head to go into a nearby locker hard enough to knock him out.

I pulled Jackson down the stairs. He was awake now. He wasn't as angry I thought he would be. 

Isaac went to the other side of Jackson to help hold him in place. We stopped him a little in front of Derek. 

"What happened to you on the night of the full moon?" Derek asked him.

"What? Nothing. Nothing happened." Jackson answered. 

"You're lying." Derek stated. He reaches beside him and puts on the black glove so he doesn't get paralyzed. 

"No, I can prove it." Jackson said ,struggling in our grips. "I taped myself."

"You taped yourself?" Isaac asked like he's just realizing that Jackson's weird enough to do that.

"Yes. It was the full moon. And maybe while you were curled in the corner having an existential crisis about turning into a monster, I was preparing for the gift your big ,bad alpha promised me ,but what do I get ,nothing. You want proof, let me get the video." Jackson says the first part while being in Isaac's face then face's Derek. 

Derek was quiet for a moment. "No." Derek picks up the glass with the kanima venom on it. "No. I have a better idea."

"What is that?" Jackson asks. Isaac and I put Jackson on his knees and hold his head back with his mouth open.

"You know, Jackson, you've always been kind of a snake ,and everyone knows ,a snake can't be poisoned by it's own venom." Derek told Jackson before holding the glass so that a drop of the venom drops into Jackson's mouth. Isaac and I drop him and stand by Erica and Derek. Jackson shook a bit before staying still ,completely paralyzed. Derek walked over and squatted down beside Jackson. "You're still a snake ,just not the one we're looking for."

Derek walked off. Isaac walked over to Jackson. He kneeled in front of him while Erica wandered off. 

"You're still gonna need to do one more thing for us... well, me." Isaac tells him. He tells Jackson how to make him not a fugitive anymore.

I threw Jackson over my shoulder and went to throw him in my car to take him home. The paralysis wore off on the ride. He was able to walk unstably by the time we got to his house. I helped him walk to his room. I laid him down and turned to leave. Something on his nightstand caught my eye. 

*Third Person*

Jackson saw Jessica looking at his nightstand. Jess was staring at the earrings that she left when she slept with him.
