"Penny, you know that you can't be outside during the morning commute!" My mother scowled, smacking me in my knee, leaving a red handprint on the side. I struggled to arise, ripping my knots loose, and she grasped me by my only ear and tugged me into our makeshift tent.

I looked outside and saw the passerby's. They wore slick jackets, formal dresses, and fancy shoes, all brightly colored in cleanliness. I watched as each and every one moved differently: a bald man trudged along with his suitcase dragging beside him, his eyes focused on the gravel, a tall girl strutting down the road in a nice ironed gown, trotting along on her way to school behind another male heading to the same destination. I always wondered what it felt like to be in a classroom, learning, reading, writing; I never wrote nor read, as we couldn't afford to gather the tools required to do so. You might be wondering: isn't everything free?

Our mess of a kingdom can't obtain anything offered from outside sources besides their families as they don't own an actual residence. We are always treated with disrespect. We never get the necessities we need as actual human beings, and sometimes I even think about running out of these bordered walls and finding the paradise I feel the tension of. One day I will wake up and breathe in the-

"PENNY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

I jumped, arising from my day dream. I was standing still on residential property. I froze like water in a freezer. I didn't know what to do- my dreams brought me out here- does that mean something?
