"Daddy, you know her?" Sydney chirped.

"Yes. She knows another person quite well enough..." Adaine murmured.

"Who?" her voice peeped. She was so young and girly, you could tell by her mouth movements she was treated with respect.

"Your fiancé, my princess."

Fiancé?

"She met Daniel? LOL!"

Her voice got more annoying by the minute. She was so pitiful and stupid at the same time, she made my eardrum want to die.

"They were out on an, 'adventure' near the tracks... what imbeciles..."

"WHAT?" her voice ignited. "ONLY HE CAN TAKE ME ON ADVENTURES!"

She pulled up both her puny fists and smacked my shoulder. I felt nothing. I saw her bring her hand in and kiss it, trying to heal the pain of my bone without me knowing.

"Daddy, punch her!"

"He already did, 'darling'. And Daniel punched him back."

I felt proud. I never stood up to a person so honored with respect before.

"Daniel hit you daddy?" she whined. "Why would he do that? He said he liked you."

He let out a big cough, covering his mouth, and spoke the truth. "He did punch me."

He revealed a big bruise next to his nostril, covered in concealer from his daughters make-up kit.

"Daddy, are you sure it wasn't-"

"Honey, it was him. He didn't like how I hurt Penelope, so he hit me."

I saw a tear drip from her eye down onto her hand, covering her nose.

"He would do the same for me if someone hit me!"

She wanted to feel as if he loved her. He probably did. I didn't know his feelings. I was just trying to comprehend her voice while she was sobbing.

"I wouldn't."

All three of us stood in shock. I flipped my head around and saw Daniel, hands on his hips, looking as confident as ever. And hotter, too.

"Hi Daniel," I responded, shaking in sync with Sydney and Adaine.

"Hi Penelope."
