Brightness appeared, covering my pupils. The breeze from outside shifted me backwards with force, making it harder to rise up. I took a moment to view the room, the stench immediately horrifying my nostrils. In front of me sat another being, crossing its legs firmly. I noted that I was wearing a long top, blue and warm coated. Breathing, I remembered the night before- the passion. The energy. The love. All of this passing my thoughts when everything just blanked, and all I could hiccup was:

Why didn't I escape?

"Daniel, why didn't we leave last night?"

Anger filled my lungs, growing and aching my body.

"Because you fell asleep, and I didn't want to wake you."

He turned to face me and he was shirtless, covered with sweat stains.

"No, you started it. I was ready to leave and you-"

Wait. Didn't Daniel have a scar-

"Penelope, wake up!"

I collapsed on the floor, kicking my feet to stand up. Daniel knelt down and held me in place, checking my pulse seconds after seconds.

"What happened. Are we outside? Am I safe?"

I got a glimpse of the surroundings. I saw gravel and stones around us overgrown with grass and moss. The trees stood tall and straight, steadying in the wind. What just happened?

"We escaped through the window. You drifted off, so I stopped here for the night."

"Where are we?" I let out.

"Lakewood. A bit away from my house."

He folded his arm underneath me and lifted me up with ease. I swiped a glance at him. He was wearing the same comfy blue shirt as he was before. His buckle was fastened, and his jeans were regularly torn.

"I want you to bring me back to Salem."

He froze, muttering under his breath.

"But you said-"

"I said I want to go back to Salem."

He gestured me to stand up, and it took all of my might to. He lifted me up on his back, holding tightly onto my legs. I squirmed around to find the most comfortable spot, and rested my head atop of his.

"Salem, here we come."
