Chapter 3 /or/ about rinks, curiosity and smoothies

"Have you seen the rink, little lady?" voice from behind her asks. Nina and Luna have been sitting in the Roller for maybe two hours, but she didn't notice time pass because of the homework. Now when both of them are done they started to talk and laugh a little as Luna tries to make her friend let out other sound than little chuckle and she would have probably succeeded but some impolite boy interrupts them in the middle.

Luna turns to him with small frown not really knowing what he means. Matteo smirks at her but in this somehow soft way. "Didn't your friend Nina show you the rink?"

She shakes her head and hears Nina's gentle voice filled with surprise. "You know my name?"

Valente looks at her and then at Matteo waiting for his answer. He puts his hands on Luna's arms slowly but steady and she has to fight impulse to take her hand to one of his. Stupid universe. "Why wouldn't I?" he just smiles instead brightly. Nina shrugs and takes sip of her smoothie probably wanting to leave the conversation with him.

However she decides to speak eventually. "I think, Matteo," she takes deep breath, "that you should show Luna the rink."

Luna has no idea if she should feel betrayed or shocked, but only thing she can focus on are Matteo's thumbs moving on her arms in weirdly reassuring way. He leans down to her ear with a grin. "Do you want me to show you my rink?"

His breath tickles her neck as she turns her face to his biting her lower lip. "Your rink?"

"Yes, my rink." Matteo chuckles and takes her hand. "Come on, you're gonna like it." He moves his eyes to Nina and nods his head "don't worry, I'm not leaving you alone."

Both Nina and Luna look the way Matteo pointed and Gastón appears from behind him with actually nice smile and Luna isn't sure why but she's torn between being glad he will stay with Nina and staying right there since her friend looks terrified. She so wants to see the rink, so she just raises her hand to show Nina she will be back in five minutes and her friend mirrors the action making silent promise. Before Luna can blink Matteo's leading her between tables and chairs with sure grip on her hand.

He doesn't show her any rink at first. He pulls her to locker room still grinning like a fool and turns towards her asking if she wants some skates. Before answering him she takes a look around and smiles; she likes the place, it fits the part of Roller she saw earlier. Patterns covering the lockers are super colorful and pretty, complicated but not much and Luna immediately wants to get her own locker.

"No, thanks, I'd rather just watch around and have my own skates next time." Luna's smile makes him grin even more. "Also I promised I would be back after five minutes."

Matteo just nods looking for a key in his backpack. "Well, then I still can skate, you can watch and admire how great skater I am." He winks at her and she rolls her eyes.

"I'm sure it's just your need of showing off, do you want me to be impressed by your skills or something?" She lifts her chin looking at his face with teasing blink in her eyes.

Matteo takes his skates out of the locker and puts them on quickly. Then he looks at her and smirk dancing on his lips almost makes her lose it. "Aren't you already impressed?"

She giggles again pouting at him, because he's even taller now but she reaches for his hand at the same time he does it and they both try to pretend that it was the universe again.

Gastón is watching Nina secretly not wanting to scare her away or something. He is genuinely surprised that she manages to be so easy and opened with Luna while with him she's almost absent. Actually Nina seems to be a little mess trying not to run away and Gastón isn't sure if it's because she doesn't like him or if it's because she's shy.
