Midair the two birds flew together, with their wings in a perfect formation along with their positioning and movement. "Have you flown before?"
Rakan took the question like as if she was insulting him. "Yes," regardless he still felt the passionate in the way xayah flies, it was very unique and unusual. Like him.
"Why do you ask?" Rakan said making sure he was as close as can be to the fellow bird, so that they flew accordingly.
"Because you don't have another wing, like me. But you seem to know what your doing." It was true, Rakan had flied before. But he had always struggled in the art of it, due to his clear lack of a wing. It was a major disadvantage to flying, using one wing to fly isn't really flying when he thought about it. He mainly only levitated.
"I mean, isn't it like in our blood or something?" He said jokingly.
"Pretty sure that's not how it works Rakan." She said with a small laugh. Xayah had curiosity written all over her face, the golden bird could see it.
"Have you?" He said slowly as his feathers were hit by the harsh wind, but once more they continued flying together as calmly as they began.
"Yeah. Before my other wing was.." she paused briefly, taking a long breath. "Torn off."
"Oh." He said sadly, shocked it had not been like what happened to his wing. The violet Raven looked behind them and above, observing their wings. "What happened to your wing..?" Xayah spoke plainly.
"I don't know exactly, it just never grew." Rakans change of tone was very saddening to the other bird, she almost felt empathy. As if she understood in some way. "Growing disability in my wing, I assumed."
"But then again you know our species, apparently it was something about the magic not being completely surged through my body. The shape shifting power or whatever else they called it, didn't work for my left wing. So only my right wing was formed over time." The rough air was beginning to contact their breath, making it hard to speak.
"Oh, My right wing is probably on someone's wall." She said without much remorse for her own right wing.
"Can you blame them? Violet is such a pretty color..-" Rakan speaks while smiling and begins to finish his sentence, "Especially on you."
She quietly says "Shush." But the wind around them continually got louder. To the point of which both their eardrums were filled with a constant noise of movement of air, the wind.
Consumed by the noise, communication was absent. Rakan wished he could have said or would have said 'Come and fly away with me.' While Soaring through the clouds.
Never-less, they continued flying until reaching ground which over time they had found due to gradually going through the air downwards.
Once reaching the ground, the different colored birds softly landed. Departing from each other's holds although they didn't want to.
Comfort was the word that Xayah had described, being alone basically all of her life. She was growing a little to Rakan, he had given her a sense of comfort.
"-You Good?" She heard come from the other bird, in which she responded with. "Yes." The Violet colored bird searched her robe, looking for the small artifact.
Holding it within her hands, she finally examined the small artifact. The sky was finally growing dark, how long had they been flying for? When did it stop raining? These questions laid in the back of xayahs
mind while thinking of all the trouble she went through to get this little object.
