Xayah kept continuing forward, still searching for the artifact. She nearly forgot that rakan existed until he spoke up from behind her.
"Or maybe, Xayah the Enigma." Rakan calmly said to himself, the wind slowly pressuring the air around the two. The air slowly thickening, almost an Erie feeling for walking around for about an hour but by now it just seemed to be the environment.
He kept rambling about the most random of topics and things that he asked xayah out of pure curiosity or just for her cold opinion.
Now it was time for xayah to ask her own question.
"Why do you keep following me?" Rakan could hear the irritation in that voice, but it still seemed angelic to him."Because, I feel Reverenced to you." Endearingly Rakan had said that and felt like that.
"Come again?" Xayah said without thought.
"I deeply respect you and I'm interested in you and your mysterious personality." Once again Rakan said Endearingly.
"..." She kept quiet and continued walking through the forests, ahead she could see a market area. Realization came to her head when her stomach let out a low growl.
"Are you hungry?" Rakan questioned her quiet but loud stomach growl.
But she didn't answer him and went towards the market, she wondered if there was any food there.
Upon reaching the market she thought she had lost Rakan, as he hadn't said anything but when she looked behind her he was right there talking to a local town folk.
Instead of waiting for him to be finished speaking, she walked towards the nearest food stand.
There was a smiling old grandparent who greeted her, "Hello Dear, Would you like to buy something?"
She looked around her cape in deep search for some kind of gold coin, something that she could use to buy her food. But when she found nothing but dust she felt her dignity sink a little. ' no money dirty rebel scum ' came straight to her mind, what humans had called her before.
Before she could say 'No' Suddenly a golden coin was on the table and a voice spoke. "I'd like to get two of your best possible meals here at this lovely stand." Xayah tilted her head to her right and Rakan was there. 'Had he seen me panicking to find money..?'
He noticed her turn and smiled at her.
"Of course sir, but that will be two coins for you and your lady." The friendly human said.
'Your lady'
Rakan without a second thought sat another coin on the table. "Hverigh dir phed kadley" (Anything for my lady.) He said in a mockingly way but in a way you could define as sweet since it was in there species language.
"I'm no ones." Xayah said simply and looked once more at the stand owner in front of them. "When will the meal be done?"
"I have to make it so I'd estimate for around thirty minutes." He then went to the back of his stand and began to prepare the food.
Again, it was just Xayah and Rakan.
"What would you like to do while waiting?" Rakan asked but xayah just gave him the cold shoulder and preceded to sharpen her feathers. While examining her previous wounds from her most recent battles.
