Chapter 5

Lily's POV

"Ready?" I asked Shawn as we jumped into the ranger.

"Yeah, uh, we're are we going?" He asked

"To a place my dad used to take me, he died when I was 8..." I say but I'm cut off by the lump forming in my throat.

"You don't have to..." He says but I cut him off,

"No, I want to." I say and I take a deep breath as I begin to tell my life story, I'm surprised I even agreed to tell him. Do I have feelings for him?

"Ok, when I was 8 we had a big 4th of July party up here and you know there was alcohol, fireworks, you know the normal party stuff. Well my mom, dad, grandma and grandpa were throwing M-80s into a metal bucket and It exploded cutting there necks and pieces went through there heart killing them." I say, and the tear rolling down his face show he cares.

"Your the only person if ever told except Morgan Konner and Kaleb, but they were there when it happened.."

"I.....I....." he says but can't find the words to explain, instead he wraps his arms around me and I snuggle into his chest and his cologne invades my nose.

"Hey, how about we go make a campfire and just hang out on the beach?" He says to me. Is he asking me on a date? No, is he?

"Sure, let me go take care of all of this." I say trying to hid the excitement in my voice as I run inside and put everything away and change into my bathing suit. I can't believe this is happening!

Shawn's POV

I can't believe that just happened! She told me her deepest secret... And she's letting me take her out on a date. Well that's what I think it is anyway, but why does she have to be so perfect. I run to our cabin and change into my swim suit and grab my guitar, does she like me?

I use the ranger to get back over there so I didn't have to wait as long to see her.

"Hey" she greets me with a huge smile. "I set up everything done on the beach."

"Ok, let's. Head down the boys called and they went shopping around town I guess."

"Ok, let's go." She says aspens I grab her hand, her cheeks turn red as we head down to the dock. This is going to be the best night ever

Will Shawn and Lily get together?
