"This shit can't be real." I stressed after hearing the results of baby girl. "A COMA!!" Ebony and Sasha yelled in sync and the Doctor nodded sadly. "She lost a lot of blood, and she has a knot of the back of her head meaning she fell pretty hard." He said and I sighed, that was my fault. "For how long?!" Ebony asked and he looked over the notes on his clipboard then let out a breath. "Not really sure..sometimes they last a year, six months and sometimes forever." He said and I shook my head refusing to believe that.

"She's not gonna be in this for no damn year!" Brae snapped and I agreed. "Only time will tell, remember she did lose a lottt of blood." He said and I placed my hands over my face. "Shit can't be happening." I mumbled feeling myself get emotional again. "Kira's a fighter she needs us more than ever, we gotta pray and be strong for her." Trell said and I just continued to look at the floor as the tears kept coming. "What about her school? Will they hold her back?" I heard Brae ask. "No, that would not be alright due to her situation. But they will send one of you guys her homework to do.." He said and I smacked my lips this some fucking bull shit.

"That's not fair on her part!" She yelled pissed and he cleared his throat. "The government makes the rules not us, but as long as someone is okay with collecting and doing her homework and coming by each day to read and talk with her then everything will be fine." He explained and I looked up. "I'll do it." I volunteered and everyone looked at me. "You don't need to add anymore stress on you." Ebony stated and I put my focus on the Doctor. "I'll do it." I repeatedly and he nodded as he wrote something down then motioned for me to follow him.

"Oh I also need the parent to sign giving him permission." He said stopping and I looked at Ebony. "I don't think he should." Sasha said showing her true self and I smacked my lips. "You ain't even her mom." Trell said getting annoyed and she shrugged. "So, I have legal documents and I say no." She stated and Ebony laughed as she stood up. "I'm her actual mother and I give him permission." She stated smartly and Sasha's and Braelyn's mouth fell.

The Doctor seemed stuck on what to do so I decided to give him a push. "Trust you don't wanna go against the grain on this one." I advised and he nodded walking out the room quickly as Ebony and Sasha began arguing.

Two weeks later
"Hey shorty it's me again.. Everyone's asking about you.. I told them they ain't got nothing to worry about, cuz I know you a little soldier." I said grabbing a hold of her hand and rubbed the top of it with my thumb. "I'm tryna stay strong for you.. but I miss you." I paused taking a deep breath. "I can't sleep, I'm tryna stay strong for you and your mom, but I miss you B." I choked up. "I miss you being annoying, I miss your smile and that contagious ass laugh of yours. I miss how you used to check up on me and made sure I ate."

I inhaled a breath. "Damn this is crazy." I laughed weakly. "I would have never thought that at 17, I would fall in love with someone as dope as you.. all for it to be taken away cuz of a careless mistake." I sniffled clearing my throat. "If I could trade places with you I would shorty. You ain't deserve this and I'm sorry I didn't try hard enough to protect you. I got too comfortable with what I was doing and let my guard down. I'm sorry... I'm sorry." I cried resting my head on the bed. "Just come back to me.. I need you." I begged breaking down.

"Oops.. sorry I didn't know anyone was in here." The older nurse said and I wiped my face standing up. "It's fine." I lied walking into the bathroom to clean my face. "So.. how's she doing?" I asked exiting the bathroom as she wrote some stuff down and check the machine. "She's fighting." Was all she said.. I guess I could take that for some sort of comfort. "Will she have memory loss?" I asked and she gave me a smile. "From the reports so far, she will have memories of the most important things and people in her life. She improves day by day, with the help of you and her mom."
