AKIRA
Halloween

"Are you going out?" Diana asked after we got back from our classes. "I don't really do parties." I told her running into the bathroom to pee. "Well I wanted you to come with me!" She called from behind the door and I ignored her.

I guess I was taking too long to answer cuz she helped herself in the bathroom. "You my friend and all, but we ain't this close." I said motioning between the two of us and she shrugged walking over to the medicine cabinet.

I rolled my eyes as I wiped myself then pulled my jeans up. After I flushed and washed my hands, I left her in the bathroom. "I don't see what that was about but I'ma let it go." She said as if I gave her a choice. "Girl." I laughed. "Personal space is everything." I announced going into the kitchen to see what I could eat.

"Mhm." She replied clearly in her feelings, but I ain't care. "Are you going or no?" She repeated and I shook my head. "I stopped celebrating that holiday when I was eleven" I told her and she blew out a breath of frustration. "Fine." She mumbled going into our room.

"Worrisome." I mumbled grabbing out some chips and dip. I walked into the living room and turned the tv on to resume watching Ghost Whisperer as I ate my snacks.

"Forgot my drink." I muttered, setting my stuff down getting up to go back into the kitchen. After I rummaged through the fridge for a Gatorade, I grabbed a lunchable as well.
"Now we're talking." I said relaxing on the sofa as I ate my goods.

Later that day
"I'm leaving, wait up don't, it doesn't matter." She said walking out the room. I didn't even bother to say nothing to her sensitive ass, I don't wanna go out so now you mad? Cool. "I'm taking the key!" She called and I rolled my eyes pulling the covers over my head.

"We're not speaking?" She asked coming into the room, I rolled my eyes sitting up. "Have fun Diana, damn." I stressed, "Love you too." She smiled blowing a kiss walking out and I shook my head.

"Hey mom." I greeted answering the phone, "Hey, when do you guys come down for thanksgiving break?" She asked with talking in the background. "In another week, I believe." I replied grabbing my water bottle and chugging the rest down.

"Good, I can't wait." She chimed and I smiled. "What do you want? Or should we cook together?" She questioned, "Any and everything, I wanna help you with the desserts though." I added and I heard her clap. "That's fine with me, we can go food shopping when you come down here."

She announced and I agreed. "Are you bringing that girl?" She asked and I pictured her face scrunched up. "I don't know, she wants to come, but I told her she can go to her families." I said and she laughed. "Good, cuz something about her rubs me the wrong way." She admitted and I thought about it.

"She said she had family down there, maybe you know her folks." I said, "I would recognize her if I did." She stated, "Not necessarily." I added and she made a sound. "I got good memory, remember that." She said and I smiled.

"Mhm, what you doing though?" I asked getting up and going into the living to grab the pizza menu. "Talking with Eric's dad, Will and Alex." She said and I furrowed my brows. "Mr. J there?" I asked shocked she giggled before there was moving then his voice came through the phone.

"How's my favorite person?" He asked and I smiled. "I'm okay.. how are you?" I asked grabbing my tablet to order online. "You sure?" He questioned and I nodded as if he could see me. "Have you talked to my son lately?" He questioned as if he knew something.

"He hasn't called me in two weeks.." I sighed, "He's tryna figure some stuff out Ki." He said but I really didn't care. "We all are." I commented focusing on my order. "I'm not defending him cuz he's my son, you know I always put you first." He announced and I stayed quiet.
