16 Hanging out

We were hanging out around the base and getting to-know each other. I just sat around talking to Natasha. For some reason Bucky wouldn't leave my side. I suggested the he go talk with Steve but he insisted on staying with me.

"So I heard that you finally told Tony to back off on the big brother thing." Said Nat

"Yeah, once he heard that I was going to protect Steve and Bucky with all I had I thought he was going to turn on me and turn me in with them." I said "He probably was if he didn't see that Hydra was after me too."

"Yeah he's changed since the Avengers fell apart."

"I bet."

I looked at Buck and he was sitting there taking it all in. I could tell that he didn't believe that Tony has changed but I do. When the Avengers fell apart it made a big impact on Tony ego.

"So what have you been up to?"

"Oh you know after SHEILD fell I've had nothing to do so why not try and have a normal life."

"How's that working for you?"

"Absolutely horrible. I can't get a break."

I started laughing.

"What's so funny over here?" Someone asked.

I looked up and saw a boy about 16 or 17. He had light brown hair and brownish eyes. He stood about 5'10".

I saw Bucky stiffen besides me.

"What's up Parker?" Said Nat.

"Oh you know just wanted to meet the new people." He said.

Nat chuckled and pointed at me. "That Erin and you already know Bucky."

He looked at Bucky. "Your the guy with the wicked metal arm."

Buck looked up surprised.

I chuckled at him.

"What your name kid?" I asked

"Peter Parker or Spiderman."

"Aren't you a little young to be doing this kind of work?"

I heard Buck scoff. I looked at him "got anything to say Barnes?"

"Nothing just how old were you when you joined the Howling Commandos again?" He said.

I stared at him in shock. I turned to Peter. "Forget I said anything."

"Ok but how old were you?" He said.

I glared at Bucky. "15" was all I said.

Peter and Nat looked at me in surprise. I never told Nat how old I was when I met Steve and Bucky.

"But my powers didn't start to show till I was 16." I added.

"Hence the name Pheonix." I heard Steve come up and added.

"And I thought I was young." Said Peter. 

"To be fair Howard introduce me to the idea of working with Captain America."

i thought back to when Howard suggested that I join Steve and the Howling Commandos on missions, because I had a hard time staying in the lab for long periods of time and according to Howard I loved getting into trouble. (I swear I didn't go looking for it! It just found me!)

True if i didn't join them a lot of stuff wouldn't of happened but then again a lot of other stuff wouldn't of happened. You know what I mean? Hydra wouldn't of known about me but neither would have Steve and Bucky. I wouldn't have been "in" the Army but I wouldn't have joined the Air force. I wouldn't have been part of Hydra but I would be 90 years old.

"Yeah Howard did a lot of stuff." Said Steve "But I think we really needed you on our team. You and Buck had one hell of a shot and two snipers makes good protection."

I smiled at the thought of Steve thinking that they really needed me.

I looked around and noticed the crowd. All of the Avengers we surrounding us trying to listen on our conversation.

"So if you've known Cap since he became Cap do you know of anything embarressing about him?" asked Clint.(I knew him because he hung out with Nat every now and then.)

I grinned and looked at Bucky who was also grinning and we both looked at Steve who was bright red.

"Oh no." was all he said.
