Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters, this is a story that I've always wanted to write and publish to my readers because as far as I can remember I've wanted to write a completed story that actually is worth reading but also because although there are many Muslim stories on wattpad and I've read most (love them btw) I feel like they're a bit too cliche and don't really give a realistic point of view, for example, most stories I've read are arranged marriage and that's not always the case so this is the part where I come in, I'm writing a story which is going to be about two Muslims obviously meeting and while there will be tiny cliche parts I intend the overall story plot to be different to other stories and somewhat refreshing and intriguing. However, as I am currently in the middle of taking my GCSE's I won't start writing the story until I've finished it all, luckily for you I actually finish on the 20th so 10 more days to go. Please pray for me and make dua that I pass all my exams because trust me the maths is so hard, but other than that here are some get to know me facts because as a writer I feel like you should know about me so you can understand the story better (don't worry it will be brief)
1) The main characters in my story are going to be black, as a black muslimah there are not many representations of people of my colour and that does anger me because why is there no representation? and its great that there are Arabic and Asian Muslim books because I'm all for POC but if I want to see the change I must do it myself so yeah GO POC MUSLIMAHS!
2) Most books I've read, its either the boy struggling with his deen or both characters are already perfect and that is wonderful mashallah but for me personally, there have been times where I struggled with my deen and I won't say how little or bad but the point is I'm not in some gang that smokes and drinks and that's the reason why I struggled, but I want to shed light on the fact that you can be a good person that helps and stuff but struggle with your deen for whatever reason, for me it was 'habit' but I won't get into that. So if you already guessed, the characters will face some hardship and difficulty and not just some average ones like proper deep ones.
3)I am obviously quite young nearly 17 so the characters will probably be 2 or 3 years above my age.
This is all I can think of now but in shaa allah when I start updating chapters, i hope you like it and know that I put a lot of thought and energy into this ( I even partially created the book cover, the birds and the quote I didn't, but I put the flowers under :) )
I hope you have a wonderful blessed Ramadan and wish you all the best. xx
