The letter Duncan held in his hand was from the King's Court. A court order to return Karma to her "rightful" guardian. Duncan jaw clenched and his body tensed. "Bloody bastard!" Duncan swear and crushed the paper in his hand with one squeeze. Then threw the paper in the fire place and watched it as it burns. He was enthralled as the flames engulfed the paper, it was beautiful as it dance and shines with all its glory. As he thought how it reminded him of Karma. The beauty and the way it pulls you in, but as you get too close it bites and burns.

His back turned to the door as he stared at the flames, he sensed Karma entering the room. He could place that scent anywhere, it reminds him of freshly picked lavender flowers. He could hear her light foot steps coming closer. He turned around and watched as she walked towards him,and at that moment he was sure she doesn't know how beautiful she was. Her strides graceful and her hips mesmerizing, as her hips sway from side to side. Her gold hair was on top of her head which made her look like an angel.

Now that he looked at her, knew he didn't kidnap her to get back at Winsley. From the moment she fell in his hands he didn't want to let her go. She was his, he needed her, and something tells him she needed him too.

Duncan didn't know what came over him but he went over to karma , took both her hands in his and he heard the words flew from his mouth. "Marry me."

Karma was dumbstruck she didn't know what to say or do. She couldn't move. When here brain had finally came to accept that what he said wasn't hallucination she took her dress in her hands and ran from the room.

karma didn't even know where she was going but her legs kept moving, her foot collapsed and so did the dam that held all the tears she kept inside.

Fear was something she was familiar with. Pain, she was even more acquainted. Other than that she was used to feeling nothing. Nothing, until the day, she was taken to this place. Right now she was overwhelmed with so much emotions.

She was terrified, that Duncan would finally see the true her. A worthless, ruin, shell of a person.

She was sad, a feeling she now know that you can only understand, if you knew what joy was. And so she knew that she was sad. Sad because she knew that joy was something she will never have the privilege  of enjoying ever again. Sad because she knew this day was going to come and she let it happened. sad because she cannot let this go on any further. Most of all she was sad because she wanted this, she wanted to be apart of a family that is loving and kind. Also, to have someone who truly cares for her and treat her like she is the most delicate flower in the world and look at her the same.

She was brokenhearted because she wanted to say yes, but she knew that once he found out the truth about her he will never want to be with her.

No one will ever want to be with her. He made sure of that. Richard made that certain.

"No one will ever love you." She heard his voice filled with laughter echoing inside her mind.
