I'm so excited for this chapter because finally we hear Ruhaan speak.
{CHAPTER 5}
[Introduction]
Song suggestion| Kaise BataonMyra's POV:
I stood before the class and I heard a lump form in my throat. I cleared it and tried speaking like the others before me had done,
"Umm.. Hi umm.. I'm My-ra. Myra JaiSingh. I'm a first year international student from the states. Umm.."
"Tell us what you aspire to be Myra?" Mr. Malhotra encouraged.
What I aspire to be?
"Well, umm, I aspire to be a teacher."
"And why is that Myra?" Mr. Malhotra questioned,
"umm.. because.. because, I know that I can't be someone great, but I can make someone 'great.' I want to teach little children, help them, educate them, love them.."
Love. Why does this word keep popping up?
I felt Nia clutch my hand that was pressed against the cold surface of the glass table,
"I just wanna give someone a better future."
I sat back down in my seat.
"Wow Myra. I have been working as a teacher for the past 9 years, but I never found my job this meaningful. This is the first time I have ever considered this. Thank you," he paused, "now, Miss. Bhardwaj."

Several introductions later, came two I was waiting for. I heard a voice, one I believe belonged to the boy I recognise,
"Hi everyone. There really is no need to introduce myself, because basically everyone knows me, but for the sake of it, I will. I'm Abhimanyu Ahluwalia, but honestly, I prefer Abhi..."
An eternity later, I heard him sit down and Mr. Malhotra speak,
"Thank you Abhi, that was very detailed."
"Anytime sir" Abhimanyu replied. Mr. Malhotra nodded. I heard a chair's wheels shuffle back and two feet align the floor.
"Umm.." this voice, that laugh.
"I'm Ruhaan Kishan Oberoi. Senior. Uhh.. yeah, thank you" I turned around to face him as he started to sit down.
Ruhaan. Such a beautiful name. His name means pure soul. Pure as in the water of the Ganges, a soul as beautiful as the heavens itself. This name, I had only heard once before. But where?
A very blurry memory cascaded through my mind. A figure of a girl running behind a boy, calling him "Ruhaan!!".
"Ruhaan, would you like to tell the class what you would like to become?"
He stood up to his great height once again, and all eyes were set on him, including mine.
I saw his expression weaken, but it looked as though he composed himself and once again his voice rang out. The voice which was like a hymn to my ears. A voice which brang back memories which I seized to remember.
"I'll be taking over my father's business" he concluded.
Mr. Malhotra stopped him from taking a seat once again, "not what you will become Ruhaan, what you want to become."
I faced Ruhaan once again who now had his eyes fixed on me, "that is what I want to become, sir" he took his seat, mock humor was evident in his voice.
I turned around and just then the bell rang out suggesting that it was now lunch time. The students groggily walked out and as Nia and I collected our belongings, starting to descend the steps, we collided with something.
Something rock hard, something that was beating irregularly fast, like a heart sometimes. With closed eyes and my nostrils full of a heavenly scent, I stepped backwards.
I opened my eyes and found the boy, Ruhaan, standing in front of me. I looked over at Nia, who looked as though she was in some kind of a hypnotic trance with the person infront of her, the boy from breakfast yesterday, Abhimanyu.
I elbowed her and she jolted awake,
"huh?" Abhimanyu and Nia said in unison.
I grabbed Nia by her upper arm and pulled her with me, whispering a small "sorry" before rushing out the door with Nia on my tail.

We fetched lunch at the cafèteria at the college and found a cosy place in the garden to eat and soak in the little amount of sun we were going to receive.
"That was so clichè."
Avoiding whatever Nia was speaking, I grabbed my salad and poured the dressing in, lost in my thoughts of what had just happened. I saw a pair of fingers clicking before my eyes,
"don't get lost again" Nia said once again.
"It wasn't me who got lost in Abhimanyu's eyes" I teased. She avoided my gaze, until I said "c'mon who cares about what happened anyways Nia."
"Myra, I care, you should care. The boy, the boy you were talking about last night, I see him in Ruhaan. I don't know, I just do. He never left your eyes, the other day, at breakfast, I think it was him who Abhi was talking to. Abhi was talking about you to Ruhaan Myra. You need to let go. Just let go."
As I was trying to find the right words to respond with, I realised we had company. I followed Nia's gaze to find a happy, brown-eyed girl standing above us.
"May I join you?"
"Umm.. yeah sure" I replied as Nia and I locked eyes. She sat down on the grass next to me. She was wearing a white crop top with a black jean skirt and white flats with a similar puma bag on her back.
"I'm Natalie. Call me Nat" she introduced and we did the same. We started conversing and by the amount of "hi" and "hello's" she was receiving, it wasn't hard to tell she was quite popular.
"I'm actually a senior."
"Oh cool. We haven't really made friends with any yet.. they all seem so scary and you know devil-like, except you" Nia said referring to Nat.
"I get you. I really do. They seemed quite scary to me last year too. Now that we're seniors', we might seem a little intimidating to you, but as a matter of fact we're pretty friendly. Trust me."
All three of us became a laughing stock.
When we finally got a grip on ourselves, Nat spoke once again, "hey, why don't you hang out with us? It's better than getting bored out here" she suggested and we happily took on the offer.
Isn't Natalie so nice?
Yeah, I love her too.
Ok now bye!!
