{CHAPTER 10}
[The Charm]
Song suggestion| Meri MaaMyra's POV:
On Sunday, Mr. Bhardwaj gave Nia and I a ride to the campus when Nia remembered that we were out of stock on chocolate and said that she'll take my bags up to the dorm while I take a ride to the shops.
I agreed and Mr. Bhardwaj soon dropped me outside the local supermarket. I thanked him for the ride, the weekend and their lo-... care towards me.
Once I got inside, I realised the time was 4:30 and I barely had any time to make it back on time. I hurriedly picked up chocolates and rushed out the door, paying for the collection, when my attention was diverted to a jewellery store opposite the supermarket.
It wasn't too big, but not too small either. It was just quaint. I crossed the road checking my watch, 4:45, it read.
The glass doors opened and I step foot inside the store. It had a powerful, feminine, floral scent which started to grow on me even more every second.
The young woman behind the counter, in her mid 20's greeted me with a warm smile and asked, "how may I help you?"
I returned her warm smile with mine and replied, "umm.. could you please show me some charms?"
"Yeah sure, what kind of charms were you looking for?"
"Not any specific kind, just something that appeals" I replied looking around as she bent down to open a glass showcase with a golden key.
"Well I hope you like something in here" she said placing a white velvet jewellery stand in front of me. I had a look through the dangly charms.
They were all quite simple, nothing I liked.
The woman kept taking out jewellery stands with more charms decorated on it but nothing appealed to me until I came across this beautiful heart shape charm which had a rose placed inside it.
"Very nice choice I must say, is this some very special bracelet?"
"Yeah it is" I said avoiding eye contact.
"Ooo. Did someone special give it to you?"
"Yeah, my mum. She believed that the day I complete the bracelet which fills a 1000 charms, I will find all the happiness in the world. I didn't believe it until she... I thought it was all a fairytale, but I have come to have faith in it."
"That's very sweet. I thought maybe your boyfriend or someone would have given it to you, but I didn't expect it to be your mum. You really are a very great daughter. Your mum must really be happy to see you today," she said calmly.
"Oh. I don't have a boyfriend. But I hope my mum is happy with how I have become" she nodded with a smile as she packed the charm into the box.
I stood in front of the glass door once again when I noticed that it had gotten dark outside. I glanced at my watch to know that it was now 5 minutes to 7.
I'm in so much trouble now. Dinner starts at 7, and it's a half an hour trip from here on foot, and at this time, I probably won't find a bus or cab, so by foot was the best choice.
I filled the address of the campus on GoogleMaps as I was still getting used to London streets, to find my way back.
I set out on the direction my phone led me.

For some reason I found myself in a park and my phone read re-routing. Where has this led me? I noticed that there had been some construction work on the road, so maybe the directions might've changed.
I decided to take a shortcut through a alleyway on the side of Taylor street. The alley was dim lighted and very tight.
I heard a few branches crunching as my pace quickened. Someone was following me!
I looked around and found this man gaining on me. The man had a bulky built body, and his face was covered in a black hoodie making it hard for me to see his face.
My walk turned into a slow jog to a full on sprint until he pinned me to the wall.
"Wanna run from me princess?"
Who do you think it is?
I have a feeling it might be Ruhaan.
Oops.. I've said too much.
