And they ran, faster than they had before. The King was on horseback, trying to leave the city, while she was with Marian. Finally, they stopped behind a wall of adobe, panting heavily.

"Listen to me," said Marian as she gasped for breathes to fill her lungs. "You must get out of here. The Sheriff must not know of your disobedience. Go and find him, then get out of this retched place!” Marian looked at her, and knew that this was going to be a long shot.

"Are you insane?!" the younger one asked. "They will catch you! And Robin! Come with me, I can protect you from"

"Linda," interrupted Marian, putting both hands on her face. "My dear sister, please know that I know the risks, and he can be dealt with. Whatever happens, you must be strong for me. Now please, go!"

Linda knew she would not win this battle. She brought Marian close and embraced her, Marian hugging her back. Then she let go of Marian, and she ran away again.

Linda moved swiftly between the cities. Weaving left and right, she looked around for the Sheriffher fatherbreathing heavily from the amount of running she had been forced endure ever since she had left the building her, Vaisey, Marian, and Sir Guy of Gisborne had been staying at. She and Carter had saved Robin and his gang from a grueling punishment that the King had given them all because of this stupid Saracen that persuaded the King that Robin and his gang was here to kill him... as if. Now, she was to find Vaisey and get to him leave... again, as if.

Thinking of sharing a house with Guy made her blush. To be honest, she had a slight crush on him, and she had for a very long while. Those two had gotten really close over the last few weeks; though, she knew his heart shattered when he found out that Marian was the Night Watchman, and when he found out Linda was in league with Marian. But Guy had been very protective over Linda since they had gotten here. The Saracens had a soft spot for Linda, and Guy had sworn to keep her safe... or Linda would like to think that. Her protector, her knight in shining armor, her hero...

Suddenly, she heard a horse neigh, and she snapped back to reality. Linda ran toward the noise as it got closer, a small smile forming on her beautiful soft face.

"Sire!" she called, now a full on sprint taking over her.

Then she heard an arrow. Stopping in her tracks, she put her hands to her mouth to keep from screaming. Linda then heard a loud cry from a man...

"Hoot, hoot! Squawk, squawk!" She cried, hoping Robin, Much, anyone would hear her. She turned back sharply on her heals, hoping to intercept the man that had shot the King. Fortunately, he was coming right around the corner.

"Father!" she exclaimed and threw her arms around his neck, feeling a bit guilty she was praising the man who just shot Richard, but hey, she found him.

Vaisey staggered a bit, and awkwardly returned her embrace. "Good God child, I am alive!" he said pulling away with a smug grin. He was secretly glad to see his daughter. Ever since she disappeared from the little house they all had stayed at, he felt like going nuts... though not as nuts as Guy went. "Good news: The king is dead!"

Linda faltered a bit and a very heavy sense of dread washed over her. "That's..." she started, "wonderful! Come on then, we need to leave before the King's men find us!" finished Linda, guilt welling in the pit of her stomach. She grabbed his hand and pulled him to the stables. They got the horses ready, but Linda paused. She heard a noise.... a sword unsheathing... and she stopped breathing.

"Linda?" asked her father.

Linda looked over to Vaisey, and then sprinted off (despite her lungs practically screaming for air) in search of the noise and its bearer...
