Jessa, Friends with benefits?

"On and Off"

Tessa's POV:
This morning the entire house had to get up early for a meeting that is held by Jake every 2 months. Basically he runs through the list of thing a that your not allowed to do in the house. So we all gathered and he started calling out the list.

Jake: " 1. No alcohol in the house
             2. No smoking in the house
             3. No dating in the house"

I stopped him there.

Tessa: "Jake it isn't fair"

Jake: "what isn't fair?" He asked confused.

Tessa: "no dating in the house"

Jake: "how isn't it fair?

Tessa: "because we date in the house.."

Jake: "I know but we can't have anyone else date eachother in here"

Tessa: "why not Jake?! I think if you really love someone and you have feelings for them you should be able to date them..." I said raising my voice slightly.

Jake: "where is all of this coming from?"

Tessa: "I don't know" I got up and left the meeting and everyone was staring at me like if they agreed with my opinion.

They continued the meeting without me.

A few hours later...

I was in my room when Jake came in. I was laying on my bed staring at the ceiling when he came in and layed next to me. I scooted away from him. But he scooted nearer towards me and wrapped his arms around me.

Jake: "baby don't mad, what's wrong? Where was all of that coming from this morning?"

Tessa: "I don't know but if the rules are that you can't date in this house then we have to abide with them because everyone else is doing so and it's not fair to them that they have to follow them but not us."

Jake: "what are you saying?" He says as he sits up on  he bed looking into my eyes.

Tessa: "I'm breaking up with you"

Jake: "why do we always break up? We're always on and off, like we're together for 1 week then we break up" I could tell that he was frustrated.

Tessa: " then maybe we just weren't meant to be Jake! Maybe this entire relationship wasn't meant to be! Because your right we're always on and off and I hate it but there's always something that mends our relationship apart and maybe we were wasting our time until his relationship...I do and always will love you but I think we should split up..for good.." by this time is was crying and he was too but he had agreed with my choice.

He placed his thumb on my cheek and wiped away my tears. We both laid there in my bed crying but we knew that it was for the better. He layed his head against mine and we just stared at ceiling feeling depressed.

A few minutes later if just staring into space he got up and went to his room.

A few hours later...

I went downstairs still feeling down. Jake was there. He tried to act strong but you can clearly tell that something was bothering him. I layed on the trampoline again just staring into space when Chance snaps me back to reality.,

Chance: "hello? Earth to Tessa!" He said waving his hand in front of my face.

Tessa: "oh hey" I said in a low depressed tone.

Chance: "what's wrong?"

Tessa: "I don't really want to talk about it"

Chance: "c'mon you can trust me, I'm here for you"

Tessa: "I broke up with Jake" I said as I staring crying but Chance was there to comfort me. He pulled me in for a hug and he wrapped his arms around me holding me close to his chest as I cried. Jake came out of the office and was about to head upstairs. He spotted us and I knew he felt jealous and part of his heart had shattered. As he walked away I pulled away from the hug. I asked myself. Why am I crying? I made this decision.

Chance: "you wanna go for a walk to get things off your mind?"

Tessa: "I don't know if now is the right time"

Chance: "c'mon" he said pulling me off the trampoline and out the door.

Jake's POV:
I was broken. I couldn't handle the fact that she'd be someone else's one day. I thought she was the one for sure I thought she was the girl for me and I still think so but apparently she doesn't. Anthony came in my room.

Anthony: "jake can I borrow some of your toothpa- woah what happened are you okay?"

Jake: "Tessa broke up with me" I said with a shaky voice

Anthony: "shit dude I'm so sorry to hear that" he said as he consoled me.

Jake: "Where is she?"

Anthony: "Tessa?"

Jake: "yea where is she?"

Anthony: "she went out with Chance"

Jake: "what?!"

Anthony: "don't think anything of it, they just end tout for a walk and plus you and Tessa always end back up together"

Jake: "not this time, we broke up for good"

Anthony: "oh"

Jake: "I wasn't ready to let her go and I know the type of person Chance is, he'll seduce her into being with him a see all know that he likes Tessa, I mean who doesn't? But I can't stand the fact that she's not mine anymore" I said getting angry.

Anthony: "dude chill, didn't she say no matter what happens she's always gonna be yours?"

Jake: "yes but-"

Anthony: "no buts jake, she's still yours it's just that your not dating.."
