A/N: Hey guys so I'm gonna do the casting a bit later so you guys know who's who. I will be adding a few of my own OC's just to let you know.
Bob Morely as Maximus "Ace" Doreltès. I love Bob Marley in The 100 and and every other show or movie he's played in. I'll stop talking now. Enjoy the chapter😉
Anakin enjoyed being alone whenever he could. He took advantage of it as soon as he got the chance. Being a Jedi, he didn't get to have fun or have any down time except when he was injured or something and he wanted it to just be a relaxing time. He wanted to have fun when he wasn't forced to stay on bed rest to heal.
Anakin was still only a boy and he needed to have fun. To have time to himself when he needed it most. Like the other day, he had almost lost his temper with that Zygerian slave trader. He needed this. And he knew Obi Wan knew that because he wasn't surprised when he didn't say anything to him about leaving.
Anakin strolled down the streets of the Coruscanti city, as rain poured down from the clouds above and his thoughts focused on what his life would have been like if Qui-Gon hadn't taken him in. He was sure his life would be shitty working as a slave. His mother might have still been alive but he would never have found out about his so called destiny or that he was the chosen one.
Anakin admitted his life was much better than what it would've been and for that he was grateful. He never really knew Qui-Gon but from what Obi Wan told him, he had been like a father to him. And the few memories Anakin had of the deceased Jedi knight, proved Obi Wan's words true. He had treated Anakin like his own son also when he took him in.
Anakin was so deep in his thoughts that he wasn't paying attention to where he was going and he rammed into someone's chest, which sent him sprawling in a huge puddle of water on the wet ground. Of course that only happened because he reacted too late.
Anakin heard a curse above him as he wiped water from his eyes and looked up at the male standing over him. The guy had dark hair, chocolate brown eyes and a face that looked slightly familiar.
"I apologize for running into you like that." The guy said with an apologetic smile and held his hand out. Anakin grabbed it and let him pull him up to his feet.
"It's my fault. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." Anakin told him. "I'm Anakin."
The man's face changed from apologetic to recognization and shock. "Ani?"
Anakin took a step back from him, beginning to wonder how he knew his nickname. "Do I know you?"
The guy grinned and held his arms out. "Anakin it's me, Ace!"
The name sounded familiar to his ears and Anakin thought back to his childhood. There had been a boy his age that he had met on Tatooine whose name had been Maximus Doreltès but everyone started calling him "Ace" because he could do just about anything. He and Anakin had been best friends.
"Ace?" Anakin's voice was barely over a whisper. "Is it really you?
Ace grinned and spread his arms wider, tilting his head. "The one and only!"
Anakin pulled him in for a hug before pulling away quickly and looking him over. He looked good. Healthy and fit...almost for battle. Anakin only just noticed his attire. Ace was dressed in a simple black tunic, with a Republic insignia on the left shoulder.
"You're in the Republic space fighter fleet?" Anakin questioned.
Ace nodded. "Yeah. I...I was just accepted. I've heard about the great Anakin Skywalker and how you were a Jedi. Is it true?"
Anakin smiled and nodded, biting his lip. "Yes...it's great and all but I'm supposed to behave a certain way." He thought about telling him about the prophesy. "I'm apparently the chosen one, destined to destroy the Sith and restore balance to the galaxy and all that crap but...it's hard."
Ace made a face and patted his shoulder. It was then that Anakin realised how soaked he was from the rain and how cold he was as he shivered. Ace took notice too and said,
"How about we get out of this rain, huh? My place isn't far."
Anakin smiled and followed Ace down the walkway, knowing that he'd be okay with him. Ace would never hurt him that much he was sure of. And even though he was supposed to be back at the Jedi Temple soon, he knows he'll be there on time.

Hours passed as the two friends caught up with each other about how they've been, what's happened since they last saw each other all those years ago on Tatooine, and what they wanted for themselves in the near future. They told each other about their personal and relationship statuses. Ace had been in all different kinds of relationships--with guys and girls, but never stayed with one person for too long. Anakin told Ace about his past secret relationship with Padmè Amidala and how they broke it off because it wasn't something they felt like dealing with--sneaking around behind the Jedi councils back and what not. He also told Ace how he wasn't allowed to love or be in a relationship with anyone.
Ace had some choice words to say about that.
"Anakin they can't prevent you from loving someone. It's your personal life and if you love a person then that's your business, not theirs." Ace told him. "They shouldn't be able to control and dictate everything you do in your life."
"But that's what I swore an oath to. I swore that I'd give myself to the Jedi code and not have the pleasure I want for myself to help others." Anakin protested.
Ace stopped what he was doing at the kitchen counter and walked over to Anakin, who was sitting on the couch dressed in Ace's spare clothes while his were drying in the bathroom. Ace knelt in front of him and looked Anakin in the eyes.
"Anakin, whether it be a blood oath or not, you should be allowed to love. To have happiness. They can't take that away from you." Anakin stared back into his eyes as he paused. "I get it. You took an oath, but rules and oaths are meant to be broken. They're made to be broken."
Anakin pondered his words as he watched him walk back into the kitchen. Ace was right. He should be allowed to love who he wanted. He should be allowed to love period. He should be allowed to have his own happiness while he fights for others. If anything his happiness and the people he loved would make him fight harder for what's right for everyone.
Anakin accessed everything that has happened in the past year. He still loved Padmè with all his heart, though he did not want to be with her anymore. He wasn't sure why but he knew it was because deep down he knew he was falling for someone else. He just didn't know who.
