Anakin found himself lying on his back in the garden, staring up at the sky that was rapidly approaching night. He could see a few stars now and just the outline of the Coruscanti moon that was getting brighter by the second. Anakin was sad and he was sure anyone--Force user or not, could tell that he was.

Children died today. Children who were no older than eight and being trained to be Jedi. But that didn't matter; they were still kids. And they were dead because no one would listen to Anakin. If the jedi council had listened to him in the first place, no one would be dead. Especially not younglings.

Anakin hated crying and he wasn't about to now, no matter how much his eyes burned and itched to do so. He wouldn't shed a tear; he had avenged those kids. He had brought peace to their souls, allowing them to rest. At least that's what Anakin told himself. That there was no need to cry because at least they were at peace but even so....deep down Anakin knew that he was wrong.

All of those kids had looked up to Anakin and looked at him as a brother as Anakin himself had thought of them. And now they were dead and gone. He hoped that they were the stars in the night sky right now, shining down on him.

The sound of footsteps caused Anakin to look to his left; Aviana, Jett, and Mekhi were walking towards him. Anakin turned back to the sky and didn't say a word as they stopped and sat on the grass--Jett on his right and Aviana on his right while Mekhi sits on her right. No one says a word and Anakin is grateful for this.

Minutes passed before Aviana speaks, pulling blades of grass up from the dirt. "I can feel your sadness Anakin....are you okay?"

Anakin hesitates, not wanting them to see him this vulnerable. Taking a deep breath he shakes his head. "No." He whispered. Aviana doesn't respond as she waits for him to continue. "I-they....they were just kids. Children. No matter how many people I've seen killed before me in battle, how many people I've killed myself, it doesn't get better."

Anakin knew he was going to cry as he took a shuddering breath and his eyes blurred with tears. "They were just kids." Anakin sat up as the tears started to fall, making Aviana, Mekhi and Jett wrap their arms around him. That only made him cry harder and he wished this war didn't exist.

"Anakin, what happened today was not your fault. And you couldn't have stopped it either way." Mekhi told him.

Anakin pulled away. "But I could have! I tried to warn the council that it was a trap and they wouldn't listen to me!"

A shift in the Force told him that Obi Wan was on his way over here. Anakin quickly wiped his eyes and climbed to his feet, keeping his head down so he wouldn't see his red nose and tearstained cheeks. He didn't want his master to see him this way.

"Anakin."

Anakin slowly looked up, his eyes meeting that of his master's and when Obi Wan saw his face, his hard features softened but not by a lot. Anakin blinked, sniffling and cleared his throat. "Yes master?"

Obi Wan motioned for Anakin to follow him and he glanced at Aviana who gave a nod and a small smile. Jett and Mekhi mouthed that they'd see him later and Anakin followed behind Obi Wan, staring at the ground as they made their way to the council chambers. When they entered all talking ceased but he did not look up.

"Anakin, it seems that you were right." Palpatine told him. "We apologize for not listening to you."

Anakin snorted quietly under his breath as he looked up, his tearstained face now visible in the light of the council chamber. His eyes were still teary and his face was red. They all seemed surprised to see him crying, everyone except for Padmè of course.

"You don't trust me. Just say it. That's the real reason you didn't listen to me isn't it?"

"Anakin we are apologizing--"

"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to." Anakin says. They stare blankly at him as if they didn't understand what he was saying and he felt his anger start to rise steadily. "You don't have to sugarcoat it. You didn't trust my judgement. You didn't trust me."

Mace Windu stands up and comes toward him, with a careful stride. Anakin backs up and he stops. "Anakin why are you so upset? Why are you crying?"

Anakin freezes and glares at Windu through his blurry eyes. How did he not know what he was crying about? The clueless bastards the lot of them! Anakin shook his head as he scoffed and snarled.

"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Anakin shouts, causing Obi Wan and the whole council to stare at him in shock. "Children died because you didn't listen to me and you're asking me why I'm crying?! People died and not just kids because of your arrogance!" Anakin pointed a finger at Jedi Master Plo who was frowning at him. "And this whole council's disregard to what I told you!"

Obi Wan opened his mouth to say something and Anakin cut him off.

"You were supposed to have my back Master but you agreed with them! And I know you had a feeling it had been a trap but no. You had to follow everything they said!" Anakin shakes his head, his eyes burning with tears. "I could have saved them but none of you listened to me! And I'm the chosen one right?!" He spreads his arms out. "I'm the one destined to destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force?!"

"Skywalker, betrayed he feels." Master Yoda told them.

"Anakin we are sorry--"

"Screw your apologies!!" Anakin screamed, stopping Palpatine's attempt to apologize. "If you had listened to me in the first place, you wouldn't need to apologize! People are dead because of this council and its lack of regard for what someone says!" Tears are now streaming down his face and he's fighting to control his anger because all he wants to do is kill every single person in this room.

"And you're damn right I feel betrayed." Anakin adds.

"I think you need to calm down." Obi Wan says.

Anakin laughed sarcastically. "And I think you need to shut the fuck up but do you ever, wise man?" Obi Wan blanched at him and Anakin continued. "You're all pathetic. I hope you're all happy."

Anakin turned on his heel and stormed out of the council chamber, stalking down the hallways before he was running. Anakin needed to get away from here as fast as he could. Anakin sprinted out the front doors of the Jedi Temple and ran down the Coruscanti streets, taking a shortcut.

Five minutes later he showed up outside of Ace's apartment, rapping hard and loud on the door. Seconds later, the door was opened by Ace who was only wearing boxers and a robe that was open, showing off his chest. Anakin's face turned red and he looked down at his feet, fiddling with his fingers.

"Anakin? What are you doing here so late?" Ace asked, curiously.

Anakin looked up and he was sure he looked like shit but he didn't care. "Can...I stay here for a while?"

Ace frowned but nodded and stepped back, opening the door wider for him to come in. Anakin stepped into the apartment preparing to walk over to the couch when a hand wrapped around his wrist, spinning him around. Ace looked him over as if searching for injuries.

"What happened?" Ace demanded, motioning to his tearstained face and red puffy eyes.

Anakin sheepishly met his eyes and swallowed. "I....I got upset with the council and I....may have had a breakdown."

"Was it about what happened earlier today?" Ace questioned. Anakin nodded slowly, averting his eyes from him. Ace sighed and pulled Anakin into a hug, wrapping his arms around his body. Anakin hugged him back because he knew he needed it. They both did.
