James poured his third cup of coffee.
It was around six, his classes were done for the day so he was cooped up in his dorm, with nothing else to do but sit and do nothing.
What he always did.
The fourth and fifth cups of coffee ensured he wouldn't get any sleep that night, which he didn't mind. He didn't want to sleep anyways. All he dreamt about was Thomas, someone he was trying his hardest to push away.
"Damn you Jefferson," James muttered, taking a sip of his coffee, sixth cup. "I hope all this caffeine gives me a heart attack." James mumbled sadly, staring at his bruised arms.
James jumped when he heard a soft knock at the door.
"It's probably no one, I'm hearing things," James huffed, pulling a blanket over himself. Another knock rang through the dorm. "Coming!" James shouted, rolling his eyes as he got up, making his way to the door.
"Hello," Alexander smiled as James opened the door.
"Hamilton?"
"Yes," Alex said, handing James an envelope. "Thomas asked me if I could give this to you." James looked down at the letter he was handed in confusion.
"Why would he ask you of all peop- Hamilton?" James asked, noticing Alex was already walking away.
"He said to just read it James. Why don't you give that a try?" By the time the words left Alexander's mouth he was gone, leaving James confused and alone once again.
"Okay," James shut the door, ripping open the letter, pulling out a single price of paper. "What the hell..."
James read aloud, sitting on a mound of blankets on his couch.
Dear James,
My dearest Madison, what to say to you? How do I even begin to express the immaculate feeling within me that grows stronger every second you're near? I don't think I could possibly describe it.
There's just something about you, the way you act, the way you speak, the way you hold yourself. It's all so undeniably you and it's amazing. Your soft voice, your small physique, your shy attitudes. You, in general my love, would be enough to keep me happy for the rest of my days.
The problem, you don't see what I see. Not one bit, and that is a tragedy. The way you've been hurt, the way you've been abused, I don't know if it's even in my power to fix it. But, my dear, there is no way to know unless you let me try.
So will you, love?
Will you let me try?Sincerely,
Thomas~James covered his mouth, barely even being able to process what he had just read.
"Thomas," James whispered, letting the letter fall from his fingers. He stood up, pulling on a thin coat before leaving his dorm, heading in the direction of the dorm building on the other side of campus.
"I'll let you try."
A/N: I know the letter was bad I'm sorry...
