A/N: Since y'all were so mad about the cliffhanger, I decided I might as well give you this chapter now.

James let out a blood curdling scream, banging even harder on the door. His heart shattered as he heard nothing from the other side. No screaming, silence. James couldn't stop himself from crying as his fists collided with the door.

Without warning the door was swung open, Alexander caught James as he fell forward. He lifted him up so that he was on his feet. At first James' was confused, but then as he looked around he saw Aaron, crouched over a figure on the ground.

"Please tell me that's not..." James choked out. Alexander gave him a sympathetic look. "No..." The dull sound of Aaron calling the police filled his ears, but all he could hear was the own beat of his heart pounding. James collapsed into Alexander, tears flowing from his eyes. Alexander held him on the ground, holding him close. "No!" James screamed, sobbing into Alex's chest.

"He's still breathing," Aaron said into the phone. "Alex, the ambulance will be here in just a few minutes."

James couldn't hear what Alexander responded, the following minutes were a blur as medics flooded the room, taking Thomas, his Thomas away. He was pretty sure it was Alexander that dragged him out of the dorm.

"Come on James, I'll drive you to the hospital," Alexander said as he pulled James to his car. "Can you hear me?"

James nodded, following Alex, getting in the passenger seat of his car. Alexander didn't hesitate to put his car in drive, speeding in the direction of the hospital.

"He can survive this James, I know he can," Alexander said, keeping his eyes on the road, though he could see James give a half-hearted nod out of the corner of his eye. "Don't lose hope."

James tried to keep himself calm as Alexander pulled into the hospital parking lot, the two wasting no time getting out of the car.

Alexander walked to the front desk, James following behind him.

"We're here for Thomas Jefferson," Alex stated.

The woman behind the desk nodded. "They just brought him in. You can wait here." Alexander mumbled a "Thank you" before taking a seat in one of the chairs, James sitting next to him.

The two were both restless as hours passed by, both getting more worried as the time progressed.

James almost jumped out of his skin as a doctor approached him.

"Here for Mr. Jefferson?" He asked. James hastily nodded. The man smiled. "Well your worrying is over, he's alive. He just woke up, you can see him now."

James felt his heart pound in his chest as he followed the doctor, Alex at his side.

The doctor stopped at room 122, swinging the door open, letting James and Alexander inside. James covered his mouth, tears pricking at his eyes.

Thomas was in a hospital gown. A bandage wrapped around his shoulder. His face was covered in bruises, they could be seen across his whole body. Even with his battered and beaten appearance, a grin arised on his face as soon as James came into his vision.

"Hey Jemmy."
