Blair was eating lunch with Macy and Jack. All three were overwhelmingly busy so this was the first time they'd seen each other in a while. November was halfway over and all three were excited about getting a week off for Thanksgiving.
"God, I really need this break. I feel like I haven't had a minute to like, turn my brain off in weeks. I plan on doing nothing but getting in the hot tub and eating Hot Cheetos," Macy said, taking a bite of her avocado wrap.
"Yeah, me too minus the whole hot tub thing. I'm going to try and work with my dad for a few days to get some money, for dates and stuff," Jack said, wiping the corner of his mouth with a napkin.
Macy turned to Blair,"he just said for dates and stuff, Jacky boy you are such a sap!"
Macy threw an arm over Jack, resting her head on his shoulder. It was so sweet, Blair's heart felt like it could burst at any second.
"I said other stuff too...like textbooks! I need money for books!"
Blair laughed,"whatever you say, little sappy boy. Meanwhile, i'll be sleeping my ass off and working on creative writing work."
Macy looked at Blair,"You're hooking up with the teacher and you still have to do work during the break? That sucks, B."
"Macy, I'm dating Logan because I like him, not because I want him to give me an advantage over the class, that's messed up."
Macy shrugged her shoulder, picking a piece of lint off of Jack's shirt,"All i'm saying is that Logan would probably go easy on you if you asked...but fine, have it your way with your morals and ethics, ugh so gross."
Jack rolled his eyes,"did you just say having morals was gross?"
Macy looked at her boyfriend,"just shut up and kiss me, ignore my mean comments."
With that Blair picked up her food and left. Macy and Jack were cute but she could only take so much PDA. Plus, Macy was no stranger to kissing in public while using lots of tongue...not exactly what you want to see when you eat your lunch.

Blair went back to her apartment to work on some homework. She'd told herself she should go out and exercise but her couch was much too tempting so she threw on some sweats and filled out her worksheets on the couch.
She was surprised when her phone rang, the specific ringtone indicating that her mom was calling her. Usually they just texted since Blair's mom knew how busy she was. Plus, Blair was convinced she had the ugliest phone voice known to man so she tried to avoid phone calls whenever possible.
"Mom, hi...everything okay?"
"Yes, everything is good honey. I just wanted to make sure you were all set for Thanksgiving! I've been finding a lot of new recipes so get ready to cook!"
Blair's mom was a cooking fiend and a Pinterest fiend which meant that Thanksgiving dinner always consisted of a ton of funky recipes she found online. Since Blair's only other sibling was her brother, someone who hated cooking, Blair was always on kitchen duty.
"Great, you know after all this studying, the one thing I want to do is go home and slave away in the kitchen."
"Oh, stop you know you love wearing the turkey aprons!"
"Okay, fine the turkey aprons are pretty cool. What else is new, dad still trying to convince you to get a hamster?"
"He won't shut up about that! I told him there is no way in hell we're getting an oversized rat...he just misses you, the nest is empty and he doesn't know what to do."
"Awe, mom please don't make me cry while I'm trying to study."
"Sorry, sorry! New subject: how's school? No boyfriend?"
"...Oh well...actually, I am kind of seeing someone."
"WHAT?! Why didn't you tell me earlier young lady! Tell me everything!"
"Geez, you sound just like Macy. He's sweet, likes to cook, he's actually in my creative writing class with me."
"How lovely! I assume you're using protection?"
"Mom!! Please stop!"
"Fine! Well what's his name, is he cute?"
"His name is Logan...I'd say he's more handsome than cute. He has that rugged look to him."
"That's great, I look forward to meeting this young man...oh lord, your father just shoved a picture of a hamster cage in my face! Gotta go sweetie!"
Oh god....did mom just use the phrase "young man" to describe Logan...

It was the day before Thanksgiving break and Logan and Blair were hanging out one last time.
"I'm going to miss you, Blair bear. My family doesn't even like Thanksgiving food...we literally always have someone cater."
Blair sighed, reminded again of how she'd soon go from being a full time student to a full time chef's assistant.
"I'd much rather have a caterer. Instead, I get to help my mom cook everything while my dad and brother sit around the tv...yay vacation!"
"That seems extremely sexist, you should confront your mom about it. Your brother is a surgeon, obviously he's very good with his hands."
Blair laughed, thinking about how klutzy her brother way, despite his profession,"Yeah, it's probably better that he stays in the living room. Wouldn't want a recap of the great kitchen fire of '08."
"Woah, I need to hear about this."
And so Blair proceeded to tell him about the one time her brother had helped cook Thanksgiving dinner and how he'd set the turkey on fire and dropped the sweet potatoes out of a window, ruining the day for everyone.
"Yeah...we got fast food that year and Aunt Shirley was not happy about it."
"Damn, i'm going to miss talking to you like this. Telling stories and learning more about each other."
"Yeah, me too. Who knows, maybe one day i'll get to partake in the catered Silver dinner."
"And maybe one day i'll get to partake in the home cooked dinner."
Ah yes, and we can delight our families with the story of the time we first met and you yelled at me for being on my phone in class....
Author's Note: DON'T HATE ME GUYS i know this chapter kind of sucks but I wanted the next one to be about Blair's family pressing her for info on her bf and her being like UH HE'S....NICE? lol so ya get excited ;)
