Blair sat down, slowly sipping her drink that tasted more like watered down soda than coffee.

As per usual, her mind was racing. Against her better judgement, she'd allowed herself to trust and forgive Logan, even after he'd shown early signs of being a jerk. Now she knew he was a cheater...but something deep inside her almost made her want to forgive him.

Maybe, he'll change, she thought to herself.

"Sweetie, you look very confused, can I offer up some old lady advice?"

Blair looked up and saw a woman in a velour track suit, her hair a beautiful icy grey color. Blair nodded, telling the woman to take a seat.

"I've been around the block a few times...let me guess, this is because of a boy? Or, excuse me it may be because of a girl," the old woman chuckled, sipping her black coffee.

"Um, yeah, I just found out this guy who I thought I loved," Blair stopped to bite her lip,"cheated on me twice and kind of thinks cheating is okay...and the worst part is that I kind of still love him. Am I insane?"

"Sweetie, if love is involved we're all insane! Now I know you young kids think sleeping around and being wild is fun but cheating isn't normal, nor is it okay. Think about it, if this guy really loved you, do you think he'd even think about being with anyone else? Now I know, we all have fantasies and get bored yada yada but cheating..." she shook her head from side to side,"I don't think you should forgive him, honey."

"B-b-but he can be really sweet...I guess I wasn't exactly putting out as much as I could..."

"Now you shut your mouth right now! If a man cheats, that's his problem. This has nothing to do with you! Don't you dare blame yourself."

Blair looked down at her drink. The whipped cream had begun to melt, creating a white layer on top of the liquid. She swirled the drink with her spoon, slightly disgusted at how much the drink now resembled vomit.

"So...I guess I should break up with him?"

The old lady took a lipstick out of her purse, perfectly applying it without a mirror. Blair was impressed, she for one still struggled with makeup, even if mirrors were involved.

"I can't tell you what to do, but I think you know what's right."

"Great, now I get to spend my last semester of college lonely and sad..." Blair sipped her drink and gagged, the sugary taste doing nothing to brighten her mood.

"Last semester of college?? How exciting! C'mon it's not all bad, now you get to go out and party with your friends as much as you want without some silly boy holding you back!"

Blair shrugged, the last thing she wanted to do was party with Macy. She loved Macy but she was getting tired of her controlling personality.

"What're you majoring in, dear?"

"Business...I could run a store but can't keep a man."

"Now you listen here, running a store is about a thousand times harder than dating so if you can do that, you should feel very special."

Blair felt her cheeks growing red, she still hated compliments, no matter how nice they were.

"Really, you think so?"

"Hell yes! Do you have a job lined up after graduation?"

Blair chuckled, she was supposed to have been polishing her resume and applying for jobs but she just hadn't been able to find the time or motivation.

"Not exactly...I mean, my dad owns a shutter business so I could just go work for him."

"Shutters...how exciting..."

Blair said nothing, mentally agreeing with the old woman. Her dad's job was successful but it wasn't exactly what anyone would call fun.

"I have a small makeup business, been running it pretty much all by myself since I was about your age, I'd love to offer you a paid internship."

"Wait, are you serious?? That would be amazing! I mean I'd send you my transcript, resume, recommendation letters..." The old woman cut Blair off before she could ramble on anymore.

"Nah, we'll settle it without all that mumbo jumbo paperwork. You're a beautiful bright young lady, much like myself," she sat up straight, shaking her shoulders,"I could really use the perspective of a millennial, so it'll be good for both of us."

"Wow...so, do you like sell your makeup out of your house?"

"Out of my house?" The woman laughed at Blair's question,"oh sweetie, I have about ten factories, all over the country."

So much for it being a small makeup business....

"Oh my god, that's amazing."

"Lots of blood, sweat, and tears, that's how I got here! I'm retired now, though."

"I already have an apartment here," Blair answered with a smile on her face,"so right after graduation I could get right to work."

"Oh no honey, i'm retired here, my business isn't here. You'd get your choice, you could move to whatever city that suits you, and of course housing would be covered," the old woman smiled, revealing perfectly white teeth.

"Holy shit," Blair said, quickly apologizing for cussing,"so like, where could I live?" The curiosity was killing Blair by this point.

"New York...Seattle...Los Angeles. We're opening a factory in London pretty soon too, so the world is at your fingertips."

"I'm in shock right now...thank you, I mean nothing's happened yet but thank you for listening to me...it means a lot."

"Don't get all sappy now, honey. Here, let me get your contact info," the woman handed Blair her phone.

Blair input her name, number, and email, eager to begin working with this amazing lady. Now, all she had to do was graduate.

"Could you give me a ride home," Blair suddenly remembered that she'd walked from Logan's house.

"Of course."

The woman drove Blair home, making her laugh the entire car ride there. She was old but she was into pop culture and rap music and Blair was completely fascinated with her. When they finally made it home, Blair got out of the car, thanking the woman a thousand times for everything.

"Oh you're very welcome, dear. Now, go cut ties with that stupid boy of yours and remember to always cherish your friends. Well, I've got a salsa dancing class, gotta go!"

Blair trudged up her stairs, eventually making it back to her small cozy apartment. She nodded to herself, knowing exactly what needed to be done first and foremost. She picked up her phone, dialing a familiar number.

"Hey...we need to talk."
