^^Tribute to Shiro. I miss you Space Daddy™.

Lance was confused. If Keith was piloting the Black Lion now, and Lance the Red Lion, then why didn't Lance get Keith's armor? Lance really wanted Keith's armor, but he also had a mind for color coordination. It shouldn't be that hard to match five suits to five lions, but Shiro took his armor with him and Allura only had pink, so basically, as Lance saw it, the universe said 'fuck it' and left Voltron looking like a toddler that insisted on dressing himself for the first time.

Also, was Lance still the Blue Paladin because he wore blue armor, or was he the Red Paladin because he had the Red Lion? He really liked the idea of being blue, but maybe that was because he had spent so much time with the Blue Lion.

Lance decided he would be better off if he tried to ignore it.

He was supposed to be paying attention to Keith and their new plans to defeat Zarkon's left over baddies, but it was really really hard. Every time Lance tuned in, Allura and Keith were arguing about something. "It's too dangerous!", "I'm a part of this team, too!", "and a ruler with a kingdom!", "All of my people are dead!" "Blah...blah...blah..." The usual.

Lance normally wouldn't mind, but Keith was spending so much time fighting with Allura that he never had any time to fight with Lance. He didn't see Keith much as it was, but ever since he took up leading Voltron, he saw Keith less and less. Keith was super stressed out and Lance wanted to help him, but he didn't know how.

Lance had had enough of the "meeting", though. He stood up and started walking away.

"Where do think you're going?!" Keith's voice cracked.

Lance turned around with his arms up in surrender. "I'm gonna go bond with Red. It'll be more useful than sitting in on....whatever this is. Also, I'm bored." With that Lance turned and left, the automatic doors closing behind him.

Keith was trying to be a good leader, but more than anything, he needed a good night's sleep. He was kept up at night worrying about Shiro and about the team. Since Space Daddy™ had left, their little space family was falling apart. They still couldn't form Voltron with the new arrangement and each member thought that it was their own fault.

Lance needed to get away from all that and breathe. He was about to press the button on the door when he realized that he was at the hangar to the Blue Lion. "Right," he breathed. "I forgot." He walked over to Red's hangar. The zip line and mini-ship thing used to be fun, but now it was kind of annoying and lengthy. "Hey, Red," Lance said when he finally got to his new lion. "I'm feeling angsty. How 'bout you?"

The Red Lion gave Lance a sense of fire and destruction. Lance chuckled lightly. "So that's where Keith gets it." Lance put his hands on the controls. He felt out of place, and not just because he was wearing blue armor in a red lion. However, he couldn't let his feelings hold back the team. He was trying to get close to Red, and he felt Red trying to get close to him, too. If they agreed on anything, it was that they weren't going to be the two to prevent Voltron from forming.

After Lance left, everyone else decided that they also had better things to do. Keith was left alone in the meeting room. He was trying so hard to follow Shiro's instructions. He was trying so hard to be a good leader. Keith wasn't like Space Daddy™, though. People didn't just love and follow him like they did Shiro.

Normally, when Keith got stressed out like this, he would train. It was productive and it allowed him to let out his anger. However, he decided that, like Lance, he should bond with his new lion.
